    Painful Hamstrings - Home Working

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 01:42 AM PDT

    Hello all,

I've read the FAQs but since non essential medical appointments are basically cancelled at the moment...

I've been home working for about a week now and my hamstrings are becoming really painful. I've never had this problem while going into the office and back, and that's the only real change to my routine. I've not got an office chair at home and the space under the desk is quite cramped, is this likely to be the cause, or is it general lack of movement?

Is it easier to start on middle or front splits?

    Posted: 23 Mar 2020 07:17 AM PDT

I'm about as flexible as uncooked pasta, but I would love to get more flexible. Over the last couple of months I have been working on it with the help of YouTube tutorials, but I still can't do my goal- the splits. Is it easier to do middle or front splits, and how long would it take the average person to do them?

help!!! do i stretch or not?

    Posted: 23 Mar 2020 08:14 PM PDT

i've been consistently stretching my front and middle splits for a few months now and was making good progress. about a week or two ago, my hamstrings tensed up a ton out of nowhere (the right one much more than the left) and now every stretch that i used to be able to do with easy is painful

i've been just pushing through it and stretching anyways but i can't go as far. do i continue to stretch normally or rest it or something. any help would be appreciated!!

Help me prepare for physical therapy -- extreme tightness in inner thigh

    Posted: 23 Mar 2020 07:55 PM PDT

I have very tight hamstrings & glutes (both sides). However, my right side has tightness/pain in the low back (I'd actually describe as in my "waist"). When I lay on my back for a 90 minute massage, when my therapist gets to my legs, my quadriceps feel frozen (not responding to her touch), numb, pins & needles. When she moves laterally across my quads towards my IT bands, I get an incredibly sore and firey pain. It feels like I've been in pain there for years, but has been unnoticed until she massages it. Now on the right side, when I do butterfly stretch with my feet pointing at each other and knees out, I feel an incredible tightness on my right side, maybe in my groin/psoas, when I lightly push down on my right leg (my left leg can reach the ground, but the right gives me a shooting pressure sensation up my inner thigh). When I do this stretch (fold your foot/leg into your thigh to make a triangle and then stretch over the extended leg to touch your toes), I can do it just fine, but if I start leaning into the triangle leg, I feel intense pressure that runs up my inner thigh/groin. Curiously, it also runs down the inside of my leg into my knee. Doing these stretches (especially leaning into the tight inner groin) feels great and seems to release so much tension, especially in my waist/lower back, but I can't seem to make any constant progress, and my position just returns to normal after a night's sleep. When I stretch into my inner thigh, I feel so much... let's say... "bad" energy (it feels like injury or severe restriction) that I become discouraged. I am thinking of seeing a physical therapist, but does anybody know what might be occuring so I can do some research and better understand what is happening here?

Front and side splits training during covid19 isolation

    Posted: 23 Mar 2020 10:09 AM PDT

Hi There, first time in this thread and looking for a good comprehensive routine I can do every day to achieve the side and front splits.

Regularly I am a climber who climbs roughly 12-18 hours a week but flexibility had always been something holding me back so want to work on it while the world us shut down the next who knows how long.

    Back flexibility and pregnancy

    Posted: 23 Mar 2020 03:03 PM PDT

    Hi all!

So I just recently found out I was pregnant. I'm only about 6 weeks. However, I've been stretching pretty consistently before I found out.

For obvious reasons, I feel like I shouldn't work on my back bridges or walking my hands to my feet while on a bridge.

Does anyone have any recommendations on exercises I can do during the pregnancy to maintain some of my back flexibility?

    Thanks!!
