During this global period of change and rebirth, my boyfriend and I moved back with my parents after travelling for 9 months. Not much space, but here is where I practice. It's better than living out of a car, that's for sure! Feeling grateful and devoted. Peace ✌️

    Day 1 - 30 Day Don't Break The Chain Challenge #30DayDBTCChallenge - Let's Go!

    Posted: 25 Mar 2020 07:09 AM PDT

    Hi everyone!

Today marks Day 1 of the #30DayDBTCChallenge - pretty excited to get started!

    Details of the challenge here.

In the comments section, please share with us:

What videos/apps or home practice you used today. This helps all of us find inspiration (sometimes it's hard to find suitable videos) and also build a library of resources.

How you felt about your practice today, playlists, or anything that you would like to share.

I would encourage everyone here to reply to others from time to time, to keep us motivated and supported through the challenge. We may be apart physically, but we are all in this together.

    Good luck, and enjoy!

Injury/Recovery Focus and Yoga - Help?

    Posted: 25 Mar 2020 08:20 PM PDT

Hello and thanks for any help and advice in advance.

Ive done some basic Yoga and Calisthenic training via YouTube videos. Hoping to find something that can help me focus and would be easier on my target areas.

I have had multiple knee surgeries and shoulder issues. Not being able to go to the gym and limited options for continuing my physical therapy sessions right now, Im looking for something that can help me focus on at least just my knees and shoulders to keep the progress going.

Any style, method, or place to start/look would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

Need help finding strength training program to supplement home practice

    Posted: 25 Mar 2020 04:21 PM PDT

I have dabbled with yoga on and off for about a decade now, always in a studio. For the past 6 months or so, I had been very dedicated about strength training (mostly compound lifts such as deadlift, squat, bench, military press, etc). Since the lockdown happened and my gym closed for the foreseeable future, I've been doing a daily yoga practice at home. It's only been a week or so and I'm so taken by it that I want to completely scale back my strength training so that I can practice yoga every day. I don't want to completely stop strength training, since it really helps some physical problems I have, and also because I know that a yoga practice doesn't include pulling.

Does anyone have a good 2x/week full body training program to supplement a daily yoga practice? Normally I would just do quad dominant lift, hip dominant lift, vertical push, vertical pull, horizontal push, horizontal pull. However, since yoga already has a lot of push movements and not a lot of pull, I'm wondering if I'd be better served focusing on more pulling motions. Any input is appreciated.

    What makes eco-polyurethane ‘eco’?

    Posted: 25 Mar 2020 03:44 PM PDT

I am looking for a new yoga mat, and getting one with a low environmental impact is important to me. Currently I use a jade harmony mat, but I am looking for one with a different aesthetic this time. I happened upon the liforme mat, which claims to be environmentally friendly. It is made from natural rubber and eco-polyurethane. I question how polyurethane can be 'eco' and when I contacted the brand to hopefully get some clarification and additional information to help me make a decision, I did not get a response. Can anyone point me in the direction of some reputable articles about the environmental impact of using 'eco-polyurethane', and whether it has any health related implications as well?

Best yoga type for plus size

    Posted: 25 Mar 2020 08:36 AM PDT

Work closed for 2 weeks right now. I have a 5 min routine I found here I was doing every morning. Not a plus-size program so just do the best I do. But now I have time on my hands.

I'm looking for a beginners program but something geared toward a plus-size woman. I want to fall in love with it this next two weeks so I keep up doing it when I go back to work.

    Thanks for the assistance!

I am going to start doing free online yoga videos, what kind of microphone do you suggest?

    Posted: 25 Mar 2020 10:43 AM PDT

I am leaning towards a Shure mv88 shotgun mic, but I am not sure if that is the best option for sound. I initially was interested in a lavalier, but am worried it won't stay in place.

Any advice is appreciated, and just a note this will not be for profit and totally free.

Homemade Yoga Mat Ideas, please help!

    Posted: 25 Mar 2020 07:52 AM PDT

I'm very very very new to yoga, I have baby & our country is on lockdown/quarantine so I cannot & do not want to risk going outside to buy a yoga mat - but I really want to explore yoga while there's no work.

I'm slipping everywhere! Sweaty palms & feet, no yoga mat but I'm really enjoying the self practices but getting discouraged because I know I can do poses but can't do them well without risking injuring myself.

Any tips on what I can use at home for a temp yoga mat?

    Outer Ankle Pain from Yoga

    Posted: 25 Mar 2020 12:23 PM PDT

Hi all, hope you're all doing okay cooped up and healthy. I took a couple weeks off a regular yoga practice and got back into it yesterday. I woke up this morning with pain on the outside of my ankle when I move my foot. I can't tell if it's a tendon or nerve thing. I had it once before after starting yoga after a hiatus, when I did a forward fold I would feel a warmish sensation in the same spot. Has anyone had experience with this?
