Posted: 25 Aug 2020 05:05 AM PDT Hey guys. I have a trapped saphenous nerve on both legs, giving me quite a bit of grief down the lower medial hamstring and calf complexes. I have seen a physio and they recommended flossing and lower back strengthening - but I just wondered if anyone had had any experience with this nerve? You often hear about sciatic nerve issues but rarely the saphenous - so much so that online resources don't seem to be as plentiful - hence this post. [link] [comments]
How to get better at controlling your body? Posted: 24 Aug 2020 10:14 PM PDT Hey guys! I wanna know if anyone has any tips for getting better control of your body's movements. [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Aug 2020 11:21 PM PDT I was born in 1993 I have/had tight Achilles heels, in the early 2000's my doctor thought it'd be smart to cut my Achilles' heels to relieve my tiptoes. Before jumping to conclusions I do not have autism, I was three months premature so that played into my leg growth. I have always been extremely upset about how inflexible I am. My heels and hips do not seem to want to move. I've done professional stretching, hot yoga, I'm also a personal trainer which is extra sad being that I am not flexible at all. Has anyone experienced this? My hips and back of my knee joints just won't move. It's devastating, should I see a chiropractor, or someone else? I can't keep living like this. I've been stretching nonstop and its not doing anything! I look like a women doing a permanent child's pose. It's been from birth until now. It would be awesome to find some change. I can't figure out what's going on. I'm also pigeon toed. No idea if that helps. [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Aug 2020 05:32 PM PDT Maybe I don't really understand the muscle groups, but I need help with my pancake and would really appreciate your advice. I did try doing my own research first but couldn't find helpful information online or previous posts. A little background... In a seated forward bend, I am able to fold my chest on my legs/head past my knees and elbows to ground. On good, loose days I can do front splits, though they're still tough, same goes for middle splits. I also have no issues doing a standing wide leg forward bend, at one point I was able to get my head on the floor though I haven't tried that in a while. For some reason, I've never been able to get anywhere with a pancake stretch (toes pointed up). I can sit at the 90, and I do sit on my sit bones, but when I try to lean forward my hamstrings tell me No! immediately. It does not feel very healthy/good, so I don't push it. I do not have recent injuries related to this pose. Do you have any other suggestions or other types of stretches to aid me with the pancake? I tried PNF in this pose with little success. I don't really understand why I am able to do the other stretches fairly decently but not even touch the pancake, so if you understand the muscles better than I, I'd love to hear. Thank you! Balancing Right and Left flexibility Posted: 24 Aug 2020 03:44 PM PDT I have been in my contortion journey for the past 6 months now. I've seen some amazing progress with myself, but I can tell that my right side is more flexible in my side bending and my shoulder flexibility. My right arm can extend backward much farther, and when deepening my C-spine bend during contortion I feel discomfort in my left shoulder but not my right. How can I balance this out? Posted: 24 Aug 2020 06:16 AM PDT Hi all, I keep getting FB ads for GMB's Mobility program. Has anyone here tried it? I've read good things about their programs before (I was going to buy the rings program but then they scrapped it). Thanks [link] [comments]
Sitting down with legs forward and stretching to touch my toes question? Posted: 24 Aug 2020 08:10 AM PDT When I sit down and reach forward to touch my toes I get this insanely intense feeling in my lower back. Im 28 so its not like I don't understand what a stretch feels like. I am 6 foot 3 and 188 pounds for context. I am skinny, athletic, been lifting weights my whole life and playing sports. I have always stretched a little bit but recently I am trying to focus more on flexibility by stretching 1 or 2 times a day. But I have never felt this before. Like literally it like feels too 'good' like too intense to even hold this stretch...what is this? [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Aug 2020 09:13 AM PDT Lately, I (young male) have been doing some research on stretching, and since I'm having problems with lower back pain I wanted to start with stretch, and not just for the lower back just something I can do in the morning for my whole body. Somehow there is just so much information but none of it is scientifically substantiated. I just want a stretch routine for my whole body, and reasons why I need to do specifically those stretches. If anyone could help that would be really great! [link] [comments]
