Posted: 24 Aug 2020 01:16 PM PDT I know it's a random question but did yoga help you accept your body better? I filmed myself today for the first time to see my progress from an other point of view and all I can focus on is my flaws rather than trying to be positive about my progress. [link] [comments] |

Is it normal to hear bones adjust or pop as you become more flexible? Posted: 24 Aug 2020 08:09 PM PDT I've been able to almost touch my knees with my face when I bend over now that I do it every day. I can hear and feel a moving subtle pop in my joints between my hip and thigh. It doesn't hurt and I'm thinking it's my body adjusting to being able to bend more. Is this normal? [link] [comments] |
I've been reading and researching before posting but I'm still at a bit of a loss Posted: 24 Aug 2020 10:33 AM PDT Im a 24yo male in decent shape, i do body weight workouts and just got into healthy eating and daily jogs, but I have no idea how to stretch so I thought I'd look into yoga, my main issue is some trauma induced arthritis in my neck and shoulders and some of the videos I've tried following just kill my neck and back. Would I be better off to try a class or a 1 on 1 with a private instructor? Not sure if im doing the poses wrong or if I just have neglected the muscles needed for the pose. Im terrified of hurting myself worse and not being able to train anymore id love any insight from people with more experience! [link] [comments] |
Need help and advice. Did something rather stupid Posted: 24 Aug 2020 06:32 PM PDT Here's the problem: I did joe dispenza breath work, but laying down in bed. He's using a yoga lock. You breath in deeply until the rib cage shows.. I would first relax and start to dive deep, feel like floating and then summoned a breath that would potentially extract energy from the first 3 chakras. I had a few kryias at first then it subsided. It's just that at some point the energy would come and stop somewhere. First time it stopped it was at the solar plexus, right at the diaphragm. I didn't make much of it, so I continued my daily sessions and soon enough I found that I can move energy during meditation with my breath, so because my solar plexus felt tight I moved the energy from there and I thought it would dissipate, but it didn't and I had to move it further to the heart chakra and then the throat. It got stuck at the throat at the moment, because I didn't have anymore energy to continue. However that's only part of the problem. As I was using the breath to move the energy I noticed I summoned even more energy from the first 3 centers and while I was busy moving the already the energy, it got stuck on my 2nd chakra and the solar plexus again. So now I have even more stuck energy. The areas with stuck energy now feel rigid. Someone please tell me how do I fix this? What is going on? Why did the energy get stuck? I'm rather scared and don't know what to do! What are the consequences of this stuck energy? I'm a newbie at yoga. I only wanted to treat my acid reflux because it was really bad and now I'm stuck in whole new problem... [link] [comments] |
I kinda hate always being sore... Posted: 24 Aug 2020 05:11 PM PDT I've been doing yoga in my home 5 days a week since March 15th. And I fucking love it I'm literally stronger than I've ever been in my life. I'm also definitely more flexible and bendy. But... It also takes like a quarter of the class to even loosen up my muscles. Like all my muscles are sore EVERY DAMN DAY! And what goes along with that is water retention from muscle repair and feeling bloated a lot. And I'm pretty sure it's because every time I do yoga I'm a bit better at it so it's like a new muscle starts developing and I'm like totally becoming really strong and muscular but like, will it ever stop??? Will I ever start a yoga class being able to do a super limber halfway lift without any hamstring soreness? Halp [link] [comments] |

Posted: 24 Aug 2020 02:25 PM PDT So I am fairly new and have been doing yoga for 2 weeks. I also have been doing body weight fitness for a couple of months. I tried crow pose and can't hold it for more than a few secs 1-5 secs. I tried it on a pair of dumbbell and I was able to hold it for longer wondering why? And hopefully I will be able to also do the same without dumbell. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Aug 2020 09:19 AM PDT I've been practicing yoga for a couple of years now, and have complications every time with my wrists becoming too painful to hold simple poses like down dog/table top/ inversions for any prolonged amount of time, causing me to take constant relief breaks which interrupt my concentration and flow. Though i warm up my wrists before hand, the issues still persist as intensely. Does anybody have any tips to help relieve wrist pain during practice? [link] [comments] |

How Yoga Changed My Life Within A Month Posted: 24 Aug 2020 04:58 AM PDT Yoga when I was starting was not the nicest thing for me. I always felt like I wanted to be connected during yoga sessions which I was not getting so I wanted to give up. Then one yoga trainer told me online about his meditation channel on youtube called Nature Inspired Meditation which I am using so I thought y'all should know, perhaps it would be of help [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Aug 2020 12:43 AM PDT I've got a question for any teachers who are teaching over Zoom: any recommendations for a mic I can attach to my iphone for $50 or less? This might be a huge reach, as my own research has not been too successful, but maybe someone here has some insight. Most of the mics I'm finding are marketed towards podcasts or vlogs, where the mic is closer to the person speaking. Right now my students are having trouble hearing me with my iphone mic while keeping the camera at a distance where they can see me, and I'd rather not shout at them during meditations.
