- I can't believe how sore one can get doing yoga. It must be the body rebuilding itself. Feel like I was rammed all over the upper back and side of body. I feel like working out more . I want to make up for wasting so much time being weak mentally and physically. Mainly physically that was a big one

Are my expectations from Yoga too unrealistic? Posted: 30 Aug 2020 12:18 PM PDT Hello!! I've recently started yoga (via an app). I am a super beginner, slightly overweight, and when I first started a few weeks ago, I couldn't even go halfway into the splits. I am 5'9 about 280lbs, 32 years old. Fast-forward a few weeks later after doing 4 (18 minute) sessions per week. I feel great! I can do basic beginner poses I couldn't before, and I am only a few inches from the ground to being able to do a full split.🤯 I had no idea it was possible to loosen your muscles and start strengthening so fast. With that said, being overweight, and after years of being inactive, I am restricted in many of the poses... And tho yoga is helping to slowly shred the weight, I want to know if my expectations of becoming flexible and strengthening my arms and abs to the point of being able to do a crow or a full forward fold is unrealistic?.. is there anyone in my shoes who have worked from where I am now to that goal successfully?? I don't want to be stuck doing just basic yoga. I really want to push the limits!! Thanks!!! [link] [comments]

Will I be able to continue yoga? Posted: 30 Aug 2020 07:12 PM PDT To start, I've been doing yoga for a little over a year and have made amazing progress in every area except my hips. my hips, both before and after I picked up yoga, have always given me moderate to severe pain but was something I and others thought yoga could tackle. it wasn't until recently, when I thought it was odd that my hips were getting worse, that I discovered I have Femoroacetabular Impingement, which is extra bone growth on the joint and socket of mg hips. Surgical correction isn't something I can afford, and likely never will so my question is if anyone is familiar with it, is it safe to continue yoga, despite the hips being a crucial element? Any advice on yoga I can do would be great as well ♡ yoga is my everything and I cant imagine my life without it [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 Aug 2020 11:15 AM PDT hi, been doing yoga regularly for about 5-6 months. two questions, triangle pose or similar with straight legs is very painful at the back of my knees. overstreched feeling. hamstrings(?). do you just continue to stretch and practise and it eventually gets better? or should you do alternative poses to avoid injury? warrior three or airplane pose or similar I find extremely hard, got no strength or balance wse. I can at best make a few very wobbly and unstable seconds before i overbalance and tip over. is this common? feels like a pretty basic pose. maybe I've just got weak legs. I'm male, 6ft2. sometimes feels like yoga wasn't meant for tall gangly white men. still, it does wonders for my back so i'll keep going :) thanks [link] [comments]
Recommended Yoga (weight loss) Plan for Beginners Posted: 30 Aug 2020 04:01 AM PDT Hi everyone! I'm super new to yoga, I just started earlier and I love it! I followed SarahBethYoga's 15 minute morning yoga for beginners on YouTube. Now, I don't really know where to go from there. I want to do like the 30 day type of plan for weight loss but I don't really know where to find those things. I hope you guys can help me. [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Aug 2020 10:59 AM PDT That was for a good while almost a whole year of practice. Stopped and started around summer and did 30 days challenge the the kino yoga beauty MUAH to her . After that jumped around and found a few instructors on youtube who all have excellent videos. Been on it and don't count the days and just do. Real good especially for fucks like me that had back, neck, other body area injuries etcc Stuff is under rated if you ask me and I am guy. Straight male and I feel the gay community is more open towards yoga. Most hood people and those in general will say yoga is for sissies. I found consolidation in knowing TUPAC was into ballerina shit lol Man was legend anyway Bob Marley it and peace out yoga crew [link] [comments]
Anyone ever have hip impingement? Posted: 30 Aug 2020 02:07 PM PDT So I deff have some hip impingement going on, bunch of clicking and popping when I internally rotate my hip and hurts pretty bad. I'm going to see a physical therapist in a couple days. But In the mean time what do you guys suggest I do for this hip. Strengthen exercises or purely just stretch ? I'm scared I might never be able to do Jiu Jitsu again [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Aug 2020 06:42 AM PDT I am looking for props to support my wrists and I got confused... What are the prons and cons of different props for wrist pain like yoga paws, (cork) wedges or pads? [link] [comments]
