Day 19 of 30 days of yoga with Adriene (2015)

Even though I feel off due to a head cold I got myself on the mat. Thankfully today's video was a slower one that focused more on breath and making my body move with the breath . I find these types harder for me , I'm not too good with meditating. I feel a bit better after though

It's normal to feel your muscles working? Or is this something, I never experienced before yoga?

I feel stronger. Sometimes my body feels like how my body feels after lifting weights.

Hi a couple of questions from someone looking into potentially trying yoga.

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 04:58 PM PDT

I hope this is all appropriate here, but I suffer from a lot of muscular pain and have been looking for ways to work out that doesn't require lifting weights or running 300 miles. I know yoga isn't easy but could it be easier on my body and potentially help me work my muscle pains out?

Also as a hetero male I am... nervous about trying yoga. I am just wondering what sort of environments socially I will find at an average yoga studio. I just want to feel comfortable if I put myself out there to try this.

    Thank you.

    Toddler yoga?

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 02:48 PM PDT

Are there any good toddler yoga classes/series available online? I'd like to start to practice with my almost 3 year old occasionally. Thanks in advance.

Hey, what’s the name of type of yoga where you hold pose for reaaaally long time?

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 07:51 AM PDT

I know there is Hatha yoga, but it's few breaths, right? But I heard my friends mum practices when you hold the pose for looooong time before switching pose. Is there such thing?

    Thank you for reply

    Favorite post-run yoga routine?

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 03:21 PM PDT

    Hi everyone,

Does anyone have a favorite post-run yoga routine they would mind sharing?

I basically do my own 20 minute mash-up of what Faith Hunter does here (the part with the ball); some of what Adrienne does here; with a couple of martial arts stretches thrown in and happy baby as a finisher.

Thanks in advance and take care!

    Arm balance

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 12:51 PM PDT

So, I'm struggling with learning arm balances such as one knee on tricep with the other straight back and off the ground. I don't have access to a studio or teacher. Does anyone know of books or DVDs/streaming that I could access to build strength and technique? Let's say I need something to transition from basic to advanced.

To be vegetarian or not is the question. I like steak and chicken and fish.

Butterfly pose / pelvis - help!

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 12:24 AM PDT

Despite some regular yoga training for some years, there is one pose that I dread: the simple butterfly pose.

My pelvis tilts back, my back is curved, and I can't find a stretch. Sitting on blocks doesn't help much! What causes the pelvis to tilt backwards in this pose? What other areas/poses could I work on in order to fix this, so that I can finally enjoy and benefit from this pose? Or is the area that I need to work on in this pose and I just need to find a way to support myself in it?
