    Nice shoulder/upper back stretch

    Posted: 14 Oct 2020 07:54 AM PDT

Before vs. After an hour long flexibility session. I haven’t seen much progress bc I’m pretty inconsistent with stretching but today I felt such a massive difference!

    Cannot overhead squat

    Posted: 15 Oct 2020 12:38 AM PDT

Title says it all! Even holding just a wooden stick above my head, I cannot squat close to parallel. Right when I start getting about halfway down, the overhead bar starts shooting out in front of my body.

What can I do to work on this? Is this a shoulder flexibility issue?

    Right hip inflexibility

    Posted: 14 Oct 2020 09:05 PM PDT

My right hip is tight. Or at least I think it's my right hip. When I try to sit cross legged, my right ankle gets pressure on it from my right knee pushing too high into the air. It doesn't feel like I'm stretching if I push my right knee down to the ground, but it just bounces right back up if I do. What do you think is tight and how to help it since it's been such an old issue and I can do tree pose on my left side so much better than my right side.

    Posted: 14 Oct 2020 01:20 PM PDT

So i have really tight hip flexors and i decided to start stretching them recently after a warmup of course. However today i was stretching my hip flexor and got a really sharp pain shooting up from my lower quad/knee area to my hip. it felt as almost i was being stabbed by needles. what am i doing wrong? i'm stretching them by doing a lunge and leaning forward a little.

Mobility and Balance for aging parents

    Posted: 14 Oct 2020 04:53 AM PDT

I'd like to find a program that focuses on keeping or building functional mobility in seniors. In my case, 70 yr old parents who are fairly active but are seeing a decline in mobility. They are willing to do daily work as long as it is simple. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

We've developed a yoga app and we really need feedback from you, guys!

    Posted: 14 Oct 2020 08:16 AM PDT

    Hi folks,

I work in the Zenia yoga app team.

DISCLAIMER: This post is not an ad, I'm here to talk to experienced yogis and get some feedback.

We've just released a new feature - the teacher's practice mode.

Teacher practice mode is a new way of communication between yoga teacher and student in real-time. Our app analyzes movements in real-time and collects the results in one board. Our tech helps the teacher to interact with clients more closely. This mode has two parts:

For yoga instructors. We've developed a whole new level of interaction with students. With Teacher practices mode, instructors can interact with a larger audience, but maintain efficiency and personalization, and not lose sight of students' mistakes. It's even easier to add new yoga, fitness, pilates, ballet, and other practices. Zenia classes provide the marketplace with more interactive workouts. The teacher receives payment for each student who takes their class and gives feedback via a micro CRM.

For users. Users receive feedback and guidance with the instructor's voice. No additional hardware or zoom-like software is needed. You can send postures and results to the instructor and receive feedback directly from her/him to make your practice at home as safe and effective as possible.

I've attached a screenshot to show you how it works.

I'd love to hear what you think. It's very important for us to get some feedback about the teacher's practice mode because we want to keep improving it.

    Huge thanks to everyone!

Has anyone here tried any in person classes like gymnastics?

    Posted: 13 Oct 2020 05:16 PM PDT

I looked online and it's really hard to find classes that are for adults or in my area. Everything looks like it's for children or not in my area. I kind of wanted to do in person classes because my progress would be a lot faster and I would make sure I'm actually improving. I don't feel like I'm improving now anymore.
