Ashtanga yoga: Advice on learning the primary serries sequence |
Advice on learning the primary serries sequence Posted: 02 Dec 2020 10:30 PM PST I'm new to ashtanga, having started about a month and a half ago and doing a weekly half pri led class. I would like to embark on my own practice. Any tips or advice on doing so? Also, one thing that confuses me about the sequence is when to take a vinyasa between poses. Sometimes it's a vinyasa between changing sides and sometimes it's a vinyasa after 2-3 poses. Is there a cheat sheet or resources that I can go to to understand this better? Many thanks in advance! Posted: 02 Dec 2020 06:06 AM PST I have been working on jump throughs for a couple years. I am still working to get my knees closer to my chest (almost there). Because of this, the top of my feet still touch the floor. The first few transitions are very light touches, but around janu a, they start scrapping the mat. I start giving myself rug burn at this point, so I stop. Is there a way to avoid this while still being able to practice jumping through during practice? I stop doing them as soon as I notice my feet making more contact with the floor. 36m, primary 4 days a week. [link] [comments] |
