Anyone want to start a stretching challenge with me?

    Posted: 26 Sep 2020 07:21 PM PDT

I don't have any specific challenge in mind, but I seriously need motivation to get back into stretching. I used to be so consistent with stretching everyday, but recently I've gotten lazy about it. I would love to have some motivation! If anyone wants to do challenge with me or has any ideas of good challenges I could try please let me know!!!

Back stretch! (Is this stretch called something specific?)

    Completely Stiff lower body.

    Posted: 27 Sep 2020 12:43 AM PDT

    Hi,

Tried lurking around to find some tips but there are so many content created during the pandemic that I don't know where to start.

I'm a pretty heavy guy, my arms are flexible, but my lower body is extremely stiff. I can't touch my knees and i can barely touch my shin (before my legs aren't straight and it bends). I definitely can't do splits and other advance stretches.

Any tips for me to incorporate into my life to help me progress my flexibility?

I have terrible ankles, what can I do?

    Posted: 26 Sep 2020 05:14 PM PDT

So Id like to improve my flexibility and stuff, but there's one big issue

I have terribly weak ankles. Both have had huge injuries, one broken on sprained. One caused two months of issues, the other much longer

Since then Ive had short term issues like 25% of the time I do any running

Last time I was just kicking a soccer ball back and fourth

What can I do to deal with that? Ill probably work on general stretching after, but that's a big priority

Should I stretch a pulled hamstring? What can I do to heal it fast?

    Posted: 26 Sep 2020 02:46 PM PDT

I've been researching this but there's a lot of contradicting information.

About two weeks ago, I pulled my left hamstring pushing too far into stretches. The result is that I can almost do the front split on my right side but still cant get farther down than like 20 cm from the floor on my left side.

Now, I'd like to clarify that my hamstring isn't just sore - I know what soreness from stretching feels like. I felt it a lot at first and I still feel it when I push just a little past my limits. And for soreness I read that you should do gentle stretching while your muscles recover. I figured the same would apply to my torn hamstring, but its been 2 weeks and only got a little bit better before I accidentally "gently stretched" it a little too much and now Im back to pain when I do anything with it.

What do I do? Do I need to just leave it alone for weeks? Will I lose my progress entirely if I do that? Is it going to scar and never be flexible again? Im so worried and confused. Please help 😬

Best tips to improve overhead/shoulder mobility?

    Posted: 26 Sep 2020 08:10 AM PDT

I've always had very limited overhead mobility. For example when I do this I can't touch my biceps to my ears, in fact I'm a bit far off.

I've been doing some lat stretches, that shoulder "dislocates" exercise with a stick, and this for thoracic mobility and it's helped quite a bit but I think I might be plateauing now.

Is there anything else I should add to this or should this be enough?

Neck, hips and knees pain routine

    Posted: 26 Sep 2020 07:03 AM PDT

    Hi,

I'm 30, and I have back pain for about 2 years, it's always between my scapulas, along my spine until my neck.

I'm also a runner (I'm running 3 times a week), and I begin to have some knees pain, especially under the patella.

I feel like it can come from my hips, I'm not flexible at all and I have a longer leg than the other (12mm).

I know I have to make ortopedic insoles, but I also would like to strech every morning, or even twice a day if needed, to help reduce the pain.

Do you have suggestions about a 10-15min routine that could help?

    Thank you.
