Yoga for just one month has no exaggeration changed my life. I have had a knee disability since a horrid football accident when I was 14. Since then I have not been able to run or even kick a soccer ball without my kneecap disclocating. At 36 I am finally seeing the most knee improvement I have ever had in over 20 years with yoga. I'm a better Dad, being able to get up off the floor easier and be more physical horseing around. The calming nature of it has seemingly doubled my patience with them being home 24/7. I'm losing weight with the goal of getting better at yoga. Alone time with my wife has improved in literally every way. Even at the store I caught myself crouching instead of bending over at the hips to check out items on the bottom shelf. It has been a real bright spot in a dark as hell year and I wanted to share some actual good news in 2020. Shout out to Yoga with Adriene, and this subreddit for recommending her videos and answering my beginner questions. Thanks for reading and keep being awesome.

    Self Practice w/o a Screen?

    Posted: 12 Oct 2020 01:20 PM PDT

    Hello Yogis.

I started yoga as a supplement to my Crossfit workouts. I walked into a studio that was between work & home and took the plunge. It was a wonderful studio and then I lost my job so I was no longer commuting in that direction and I stopped going. After that I did some YWA at home and she's fantastic. I've been doing yoga now off and on for a year or so, it's not been a consistent practice and about two weeks ago I just started back up with YWA. I'm considering doing one of her 30 day challenges, but I just haven't committed to it yet.

Here's my one question as I'd like to be able to practice my yoga without the screen on, but I also feel that the instructional aspect still holds a lot of value for me. With that said, if you practice by yourself, how do you work through the asanas? Do you have a routine? do you just do what feels right? if that's the case, again how do you create your flow? I'd like to be able to practice outside, even if only in my backyard, but I don't want to be watching a youtube video on my tablet while i'm outside. I want to listen and just be present.

    TIA.

Popping in top and back of skull — not really painful

    Posted: 12 Oct 2020 03:10 PM PDT

I will stretch me neck by looking straight ahead and pulling my head down to my should like I want my ear to touch my shoulder. From there I turn my head so I'm looking at the ceiling and stretch my neck by trying to touch the top of my head to my shoulder or lat. I will get a strange popping feeling in the top and back of my skull sometimes that's not really painful but I can almost feel it in my ears. Anyone know what the popping is from? I didn't think there were bones to pop there. I know it's an odd question lol

Where as my left hand, is fine without any problems. Any yoga exercises which could cure my problem?

TV Yoga with that guy who played Bob Marley Music?

    Posted: 12 Oct 2020 04:15 AM PDT

About 20 years ago, I'd do this yoga program on tv, something like Lifetime TV, at maybe 5-6 am with a guy that did about an hour of yoga & played Bob Marley music. Does anyone remember that program or that guy's name?
