Has anyone else gotten osteoarthritis from ashtanga? Posted: 03 Apr 2021 03:11 PM PDT I have an arthritic C5 vertebrae as a result of ashtanga. I was diagnosed at age 26. My doctor said it's the start of a neck problem. I think back to all the times I craned my neck up during upward dog or warrior or back bends or kapotasana... the pain is so severe when I have flare ups now. Has anyone else dealt with this before? If not, friendly reminder to take care of yourselves. [link] [comments] |
Letting go during asana practice Posted: 03 Apr 2021 07:02 PM PDT How do you find the balance between letting go and putting effort into the practice? From what I understand, one of the pillars of the practice is to learn to let go and give in to the constant flow of changes during every moment. But during asana practice, I struggle with this concept. If all my muscles/bandhas are engaged, should I consciously give in to the posture in the exhale so I can release more tension, and therefore progress? How does the mind-body connection work in regards to letting go during practice? Thanks in advance for any advice ☺️ [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Apr 2021 12:58 AM PDT Day 9 of Kino's current 30 days Ashtanga challenge practice and I am loving it😁. As a newbie to this model it is brilliant to discover a practice which fits my lifestyle better., and humbled by how poor my asanas techniques are...excited to improve them too, yet love how this way of practice sets a more positive intentions for the day ahead...🙏🏾💜 [link] [comments] |
