Flexibility: Getting comfortable in my over splits and butthat! |
- Getting comfortable in my over splits and butthat!
- I think this will do it for now
- Question! When you gain new range in your flexibility, do you always make sure each practice goes up to that range? Example, I stretch on Wednesday get my left split then on Friday no split but still stretched for it (might just feel more tight). Should I push for it each session?
- I just got into improving my back flexibility, and I took "before pictures" to document my progress. Does anyone have advice based on what you can see in the pictures? what I should focus on, what not to do etc. (im paranoid about injuring my back)
- Headstand training before virtual circus class in my new recital outfit
- My morning routine. Fell in love with yoga 3 months ago
- Lunchtime Park Yoga - touched my foot to my head in king pigeon pose
- Does anyone have a dynamic/active stretching routine?
- Wanting others opinions about gaining flexibility through yoga compared to flexibility focused routines...(See more in post)
- Have any of you had issues with grinding hips?
- Piriformis syndrome.. has anyone dealt with this? Realizing this could be by I’m not making progress in my splits and pancake journey
- Tightness in front on ankle doing deep squat or calf stretch
- Stretch therapy/massages
- 15 Min Yoga FULL BODY STRETCH & Deep Relaxation
- Yoga (YOG as original Sanskrit word means union). This union happens between physical, mental and emotional sub bodies inside us and the channel is the vital life energies (prana shakti) flowing though our breath. At times I feel Yoga will is just some other exercise if done without breathing.
- A little bit confused about hip flexors, should you stretch them or not and how can i know ?

Does anyone have a dynamic/active stretching routine? Posted: 03 Apr 2021 10:21 PM PDT Hey guys! I used to stretch all the time a few years ago, and I had both front splits, a really close middle split, and a pretty deep cheststand. I got busy and had to quit, but I want to come back. Back then, I never really did many dynamic (or any strengthening) stretches. I think this led to/worsened imbalances, as I'm already a pretty weak and naturally flexible person. I want to have a more active-flexibility focused routine now, but the only non-passive stretches I know of are leg kicks and arm swings. I used to do the superman exercise before stretching my back, but I'm not sure how effective that exercise would be for flexibility. Thank you! [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Apr 2021 11:06 AM PDT I checked the FAQ since I wanted to start taking gaining flexibility a bit more seriously than I was prior and read through everything, I noticed it mentioned (Not word for word this is just what I remember off the top of my head) that flexibilty isn't going to be achieved as fast or as much with yoga because it is different. As a practioner of yoga for the past few months I understand it's not all about flexibility when it comes to yoga but it is something I've been hoping for. I was curious how many of the people here maybe started the suggested guides on this sub and noticed faster results or different results if they had purely done only yoga before like me? It's all I've been doing next to one video on hamstring flexibility but I really want to do more since I feel like my progress is very slow (not non-exsistent but small) compared to others; mostly more when I see people on this sub say how far they've come in a few months when I feel a little stagnent which is why I'm now really going to try and utilize the guides here! Have any of you had issues with grinding hips? Posted: 03 Apr 2021 05:52 AM PDT I'm new to the sub so I'm sorry if this has been discussed a bunch but since I was a kid my hips would pop/grind any time my leg lifted in any position whether they're going horizontal or vertical. I've heard this could be due to weak hip flexors or glutes but I've been strength training both of them for a while now and they don't seem to be any better. My left side is much tighter than my right but If I stand on my left leg I can balance relatively well and even do half a pistol squat. On my right leg however I'm off balance immediately and it even feels like I have to position my feet more under me to not completely fall over. I believe these weak hips are the reason for my near life long low back pain and I would do anything to fix them but just don't know what I should be doing. I stretch long and often but it's only ever temporary relief and stretches like cat/cow just make them grind and hurt me. Any ideas where to start? [link] [comments]

Tightness in front on ankle doing deep squat or calf stretch Posted: 03 Apr 2021 09:45 AM PDT I've been trying to stretch my calves more, but I'm struggling a bit to feel the stretch. I can get a gastroc easily by standing on a step with one foot, but I'm having more trouble getting a soleus stretch. I'm trying laying down with a bent knee and a strap, but I end up either trying to resist the stretch, or I just feel tightness and "bunching up" in the front of my ankle, the same feeling I get when I try to do a deep, ATG squat or sitting in a deep squat. Posted: 03 Apr 2021 09:10 AM PDT Hey all, I'm a 26 year old Male, and I am the opposite of flexible... Has anybody ever done a stretch therapy or massages to kickstart the process of becoming a bit more flexible? Is it recommended to try out? [link] [comments]

A little bit confused about hip flexors, should you stretch them or not and how can i know ? Posted: 03 Apr 2021 05:34 AM PDT Hi all, So I been researching for a long, each physical therapist says a completely different thing and I'm just lost. Should i stretch hip flexors or not, and how can i tell when i should stretch them? I did the lying test on table where you drop your leg, looks like my quad is tight and my hip flexors tight aswell, a bit less but also tight. I sit most of the time in my life apart from 4/5 work on feet, and rest is mainly sitting + some hour or 2 workout. So logically thinking by sitting down and from my research i should stretch hip flexors (A good stretch like Atranik video) because when you sit they get tight. But then i hear that because i have ATP, my glutes and abs are weak, so stretching hip flexor will worsen my ATP, but then its tight because i sit a lot? I am working my hamstrings more, glutes and abs right now, but I'm just confused about hip flexors. Should i stretch them or not? Thank you ! [link] [comments] |
