| 77 days of yoga everyday with Adriene Posted: 17 Mar 2020 03:03 PM PDT Just wanted to send love to all the other ywa fans. Completed her very first 30 days challenge, then Home and now doing yoga camp. This channel has been life changing for me in so so many ways:
It's insane what yoga has done for me (i haven't even listed everything, the ripple effect was too insane) and finding a teacher I could connect with. That being said if you don't like Adriene find someone who clicks with you. I think people are different and need different teachers/guides. I'm just expressing my personal happiness over finding her channel. Hope I can motivate fellow obese and depressed people to do yoga too (independent of the teacher they'll choose). Keep things that work for you and discard those that don't. Most importantly be gentle to yourself. Much more gentle than you think you should be. Avoid injury and don't push yourself at all, even though I know you might think it's all on you and you have to prove you aren't lazy until you break and binge again. But that's not the way. Being gentle towards yourself and analyzing + accepting your limitations is the way to go imo. You and I, we can do it! TL;DR Another "omg I love Adriene" post [link] [comments] |

| Doing Yoga For The First Time! Posted: 17 Mar 2020 08:06 PM PDT Hello everyone! My name is Sean and I want to do yoga for the first time. I was wondering if anyone is comfortable with helping me create a routine that has the some of the more harder poses so I can really test my body. I am a weight lifter and never done yoga before and figured this is a fun way to do it! If you are interested, please message me! [link] [comments] |
| Looking to get my yoga fitness back Posted: 17 Mar 2020 07:44 PM PDT So... after a couple of bad accidents and a 6 yr departure from yoga, I feel that I really need it in my life. I still workout (mostly Jiu-Jitsu), but I'm not in "yoga shape" anymore. What used to be my yoga warm up, is now my yoga workout. Does anyone know of any good yoga programs (preferably free or inexpensive )? This would be for someone who isn't new to yoga but wants to get back into really good shape without killing herself. I already do that in BJJ. [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 17 Mar 2020 06:03 PM PDT Hi y'all! I've been practicing yoga recreationally for about a year and a half now and I've decided to get my YTT in August! In the meantime, I'm really stepping up my game and trying to practice hard; I practice almost everyday and I want to get my split and crow/headstand by then. I know I have a lot to learn but that's why I want to do the YTT intensive! Anyways, I feel myself getting stronger everyday but my right knee always feels some pain while my left leg is always so much stronger. For context, I'm 24F and pretty petite (115lbs) so I'm sure I'm turning it out wrong or pushing too hard, but it makes stretching for the splits and doing lunges much more difficult. Tips? | How do you use apps like Down Dog? Posted: 17 Mar 2020 10:47 AM PDT I got the app today and I'm excited to start practicing more regularly. However, I noticed it's not available for laptops and can only be used on my phone. How do you watch the poses on a small screen while doing them simultaneously? Do you just listen to the voice instruction? I feel the need to look at the screen often to make sure I'm doing the right pose as a beginner. When I follow along to Yoga with Adrienne, I usually place the laptop in front of me on a chair or on the floor, and even then I feel like my awkward glances at the screen interrupt my flow. I can't imagine straining to look at my phone. Thoughts? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 17 Mar 2020 02:20 PM PDT Does anyone else have really short arms and struggle with certain Asanas? I think the hardest one for me is twisting while hands in prayer position so my elbow is on the outside of my knee in a lunge. I juuuust get there... Any thoughts on this?? [link] [comments] |

| **PLEASE!!**Yoga Community, can anyone help me? Posted: 17 Mar 2020 08:34 AM PDT Thank you for reading my post. Hopefully those of you reading this remain safe in this trying time. Ok, I've been practicing for over a year and a fe months in I felt discomfort in my Ajna. Some time later my body started to feel different. Like I was in direct contact with it in a sense. This increase awareness heightens my sensitivity so much as when i move my body i can feel it almost peeling or in some cases stagnant n certain places and If i keep my tongue situated at the top of my mouth the peeling sensation lessens and allows me to give space to said area more effectively (something i just found out maybe 2 weeks ago lol) Anywho, i feel like a snake shedding its skin (literally) and it seems like im coming to the tailend of this journey. I just have my lower back, shoulder, solar plexus/ heart area remaining to peel back. Every now and then i get sudden rushes of what i think is kundalini vibrating through me, its intense and Im a little offput by it because I've taken this journey without the aid of a steady teacher or guru so i Just do research and hopefully i can find the answer to a shitload of questions i have lol. If there is any information you guys can provide me with would help. Much love. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 17 Mar 2020 11:59 AM PDT I'm a bit frustrated with my studio. They switched to online classes (totally fine I get it) and made it a point to say they are NOT changing the prices at all because they want to keep it as similar to normal as possible. Uhhh ok? They also have not responded to my emails and calls. I am a college student who previously set up an arrangement that I could get a slightly discounted price with a long break during the summer while I'm not on campus. I emailed them saying I would basically like to "cancel" my subscription early since I'm not on campus. No reply. They've also been sending their own emails so I believe they have seen mine. Loved my studio before this. Thinking they're a bit greedy and I'm frustrated they aren't bothering to even email me back while I can't afford to pay for something like this. Let me know your thoughts and if I'm over reacting. Edit: to a lot of people saying they're paying for theirs, I really respect that. I would love to continue paying, but as a college student who now doesn't have a federal work study job, I simply can't keep paying to help them out. Thank you all for replies [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 17 Mar 2020 07:15 AM PDT Hello all! I've been doing yoga for 2 years or so at a low intermediate level. I started getting sick at the end of January and have basically not been able to do much for 6 weeks or so. I'm finally feeling better, but I'm terrified hurting myself by jumping back in too fast, or demoralizing myself by not being able to do what I know my body can/could. Does anyone have any advice or recommended at home videos that are enjoyable for an experienced yogi but also gentle enough to reintegrate safely? [link] [comments] |
| How do you feel about your yoga studio livestreaming classes? Teachers, tips? Posted: 17 Mar 2020 06:33 AM PDT I've been asked to keep my spots on the schedule, just online, but I feel like it's easier said than done to teach a class online. If anyone has done this pre-coronavirus I'd love some discussion as to what works and what doesn't, or comments from how it's going if you're just getting into it. My main sticking point is that the feedback I usually get from students is that they like my classes because we can work on troubleshooting advanced asana and people have got into pincha or wheel for the first time. I feel like I can't really do that online, and the rest of my yoga (i.e. leading through sun salutations, warrior sequences, basic seated folds/twists, and so on) isn't special enough to be more worth people's time than all the preexisting online yoga content. How do you create a vibe and read the energy? Know if people are sticking with you, if it's too hard or too easy? Do you read the comments as they come in? Do you play music? I'm NOT complaining about the concept, I just think a conversation about the differences between online and in person teaching would be cool, as so many places seem to be doing it now. | Are Manduka mats still made in Germany? Posted: 17 Mar 2020 02:34 AM PDT Hi r/yoga, Are the Manduka Pro mats still made in Germany (and not in China)? This actually has nothing to do with Corona, but with my continued effort to try and support local businesses/ not support the working conditions in sweatshops. The last mention I found is from around 2016 and the Manduka page doesn't really say anything in that regard. Any help is greatly appreciated! [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 16 Mar 2020 10:28 PM PDT Hi. I ordered a Manduka prolite from YogaOutlet and I'm noticing the logo is white. On the Manduka website the logo on the mats is red ? Is what I purchased legit ? [link] [comments] |
