Posted: 28 Mar 2020 04:49 PM PDT I'm not sure if this is a silly question, but I enjoy the feeling of flowing from one pose, holding it for a few breathes, and then going to the next, especially in the morning as I find it invigorating , but I don't have a lot of strength or balance. The gentle classes I find have easier poses, but they are much slower. [link] [comments] |
Hands slipping in downward dog? Posted: 28 Mar 2020 03:01 PM PDT Hello! I am just wondering does anyone have tips on how to stop my hands from slipping when I'm in downward dog? Is this common? Is there something I can do with my technique to minimize this? Seems like doesn't matter what type of mat (some are better than others) but I slip no matter what! [link] [comments] |
Streaming during studio closure Posted: 28 Mar 2020 01:15 PM PDT Curious what other teachers are liking for platforms for streaming (Zoom, IGTV, Facebook live, etc) and what devices you're using to stream/record (phone? Tablet, which one? Computer?) Any tips and tricks to share for success? [link] [comments] |

Does anyone's studio use WellnessLiving? Posted: 28 Mar 2020 02:37 PM PDT So my studio has been posting private YouTube videos during the quarantine and sending out the link through a WellnessLiving notification to people signed up for the class. This has been going on for about 2 weeks and I have not gotten any emails. I get the regular class notifications, payment reminders, etc. The studio manager looked into it for me and didn't see anything wrong with my account so she's been sending me the links separately. I emailed WellnessLiving and they said to talk to my studio but I did that. Does anyone know what the issue could be? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Mar 2020 04:27 PM PDT Hi, i have a disability and am training to become a Paralympic sprinter. The left side of my body has a lot of muscles that are atrophied. I recently decided to do Yoga to help with my running and it is way out of my comfort zone. I don't have a lot of money so i go on YouTube to get the exercises but most of them are not very adapted for someone like me. I would really appreciate if someone could give me yoga classes every now and then to at least get started with yoga. Thanks 😊 [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Mar 2020 08:12 PM PDT Hi all - sorry for a basic question, hopefully it's allowed! I just got props for the first time to start practicing at home with everything going on. What do people suggest I do to:

Posted: 28 Mar 2020 01:20 PM PDT I recently began doing regular yoga again. I'm curious to know what yoga apps are out there. Hopefully I can use them once this quarantine is over and I'm out of the house. Does anyone have any good ones they recommend? [link] [comments] |

What motivates you to keep going? Posted: 28 Mar 2020 10:36 AM PDT I started doing yoga twice a week in January, and have recently been trying to do 30 minutes every day these past few weeks. I am impressed and inspired by everyone in this sub, and really want to continue improving my physical and mental health. Finding consistency in a fitness routine has been a lifelong struggle for me. I tried a 1-hour intermediate practice today and it totally whooped my butt and I was unable to finish. It's not the end of the world but I feel really discouraged. What motivates you to keep going? What methods have you used to be consistent? Thank you in advance! [link] [comments] |
Quarantine strength poses/flows Posted: 28 Mar 2020 10:11 AM PDT I am male former triathlete that has been practicing off and off for 4 years. I am back in it while my gym is closed. I prefer strength building poses, holding for a very long time, and doing long sessions. Any other suggestions for building strength until the gym opens again? [link] [comments] |

something opposite to plow pose? Posted: 28 Mar 2020 09:35 AM PDT So I like plow pose but I was wondering if there is something that could get me more flexible in lower back extension. I know I can simply bridge on my hands however my arms are getting tired after 30 seconds when doing that, so I was wondering if there are other more relaxing alternatives [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Mar 2020 11:48 PM PDT Hi there! Since the whole social distancing situation, I'm doing all yoga practices from home. Yesterday I finished the 13th day. :) Now I want to get more in depth information about the poses, mainly: which pose does what strengthening or stretching for the muscles? Do you have any recommendations? Thank you! [link] [comments] |
