Posted: 11 Apr 2020 04:42 PM PDT I've lived through far too many anxious years, where I judged myself harshly based on how I imagined others to be thinking of me. Only through meditation have I been able to break this thought process down into its building blocks, sometimes even imagine it as it overtakes me in real time. My self-esteem issues have caused me to sometimes not trust myself enough, and rather abdicate that responsibility to others, through how I imagined they were silently judging me. I can remember this starting when I had lived just a quarter of my current life ago (in middle school), where I sought self-acceptance by trying to win others over. What this turned into was an escape from reality, and when under great stress I would imagine others to be at their worst (now or projected into the likely future). Through meditation, I'm occasionally now able to see all these imaginations and machinations as 'just objects or ideas' floating through my consciousness. I'm really early in the discovery of this, but meditation is definitely bringing some moments of lucid awareness. In turn I am generally experiencing less unresolved anxiety, and also increased efficacy through life's various tasks and challenges. [link] [comments]
Meditation helped me come to terms with the fact it's ok to be empathetic. And now it's paid off Posted: 11 Apr 2020 07:30 AM PDT My uncles going through a shit time. Not my place to go into but I'm texting him and to cheer him up I had to fucking build up the courage and Express my emotional side He gets lots of shit he doesnt deserve from this family and he has made the biggest impact on me for the better. I didnt really adopt any of my family members traits. I never talked to them growing up. I got fed and sometimes got forced to go places with them but besides then my whole life was online At first it seems terrible but it's not. My dads chill but never got to speak to him often. I thankfully didnt get his addictive personality in the Gene's. My mum is a narcissist and my older sister adopted those narcissistic traits as she actually socialized with the family. I once lived with my uncle for a few months, we both wanted that to happen because we got along quite well. Honestly the best 6ish months of my life, I loved it, he really helped me during a shit time in my life. He didnt treat me like a kid. He treat me with the same respect and maturity as an adult, in turn I treat him with the same respect. He never had to discipline me, we had a very mutual respect. So currently while his going through this I decided to Express how much he helped me and how much he means to me and how great he actually is, because my mam and sister give him complete shit for things out of his control or that he doesnt deserve to get shit for I told him in a long emotional paragraph all this stuff and he appreciated it alot. He said it was the nicest thing anyones ever said to him. I did kinda tear up I'm not gonna lie, the nicest thing ever said to him that helps him out the most should have to come from his niece. It shouldnt have took over 40 years to hear how appreciated he is, and I'm just glad I gained up the courage to Express that empathy to someone and realise how much it helped This is a big deal for me because I've never been able to publicly show empathy to anyone before. I struggled with it because everytime I did it I got bullied for it or was considered weak. The fact I've managed to break past the societal standard that men cant show empathy or emotion fills me with joy but also hope that this helps my uncle. He hasn't had the easiest last decade. Wish him luck for me people You guys, go tell a family member that means the most to you how much you care for them now, before it's too late [link] [comments]
No more chest pains, new way of life Posted: 11 Apr 2020 05:25 AM PDT Hi all, Just wanted to share my experience! I don't post ever but you know, felt like a good time. Months ago I lost a lot of friends I have known for my whole life, due to some actions somebody took which messed up everything. Anyway, my anxiety just blew up. Everyday I had chest pains, mild panic attacks etc. I met my girlfriend couple weeks after the whole thing. She was really supportive. My brother has been meditating for a couple of years and kept telling me how good it was. Didn't try it before because I lived 100km/h and it just seemed silly. Since quarantine I decided to give it a go and boy oh boy, did it work as a charm. No more pains for weeks now, I do worry from time to time but hey, Rome wasn't built in a day right? I've been drinking loads of water, eating healthy, doing lots of yoga and reading and am meditating everyday now! I feel so content, calm and happy with the things I have. Appreciate them much more than before, especially my family who accepts me for who I am. My girlfriend and I are doing so good as well, really good relationship from the start, and they all like eachother! What felt as the biggest loss ever a couple of months ago just feels like the greatest lesson I could ever receive right now. Anyway, if your having a bad experience now; things do get better, keep moving forward, give meditation a try! Smile, life's good and enjoy the little things! Stay safe my friends. EDIT: I'm a girl who has a girlfriend, just to avoid confusion :) [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Apr 2020 01:51 PM PDT After mediating solidly for around a year and a half, I have a constant high. It's unlike any other high I've ever experienced. It's like a tremendous amount of awareness. I don't mind it, and it's stronger and different than any marijuana high I've ever felt. [link] [comments]
If I'm not my thoughts-- who is living my life? Posted: 11 Apr 2020 01:56 PM PDT Alright-- so I am the awareness behind my thoughts, yes, I know. Alright-- these thoughts though- the ones that set a future for me, determine my likes and dislikes, determine so much.. Are they also me? Maybe I AM my thoughts also??? Thoughts? [link] [comments]

My moves are smoother, more accurate, less clumsy. It feels good : ) Posted: 11 Apr 2020 01:49 PM PDT It's one of those small things that I started noticing after a few months meditating.. Not that I was especially clumsy before, but there just is something special. Very subtle. That I can feel in the way I move, the way my hands grab things, even when I'm cooking, or typing on a computer. The other day I even noticed the air passing between my fingers while I was walking. All this feels really good :) just wanted to share. Much love [link] [comments]

My current daily meditation practice. Posted: 12 Apr 2020 12:56 AM PDT 'Hope in Uncertain Times'. This is a free 21-day meditation series from Deepak Chopra and Oprah Winfrey. You can find the details on their app. The app is called Oprah & Deepak 21 Day Meditation Experience. They usually take down a meditation about 5 days after it's released. However, during these uncertain times, each daily meditation is staying available. [link] [comments]
Posted: 12 Apr 2020 12:22 AM PDT Is it better for a beginner to start with apps that do guided meditation or to try and build meditation without tools? I tried meditation focused on breathe for a while but I had no "revelations" or mindfulness, the only thing improving was my concentration and calmness (that is not little) but I wanted to experience the real meditation so I stopped and lost the habit. Maybe I was doing it wrong, but with the apps I feel is just the same effect but increased. [link] [comments]
| my tip if you're a beginner in meditation Posted: 12 Apr 2020 12:11 AM PDT What personally helps me focus while meditating is the following:
Most of the times i do it with Zen meditation in the background as it enhances my meditation experience. there's no specific way to do it of course. i thought i'd share how I perform it in hopes that it might help anyone who might need it. :) [link] [comments] |
I'm unable to speak affirmations while meditating Posted: 12 Apr 2020 12:05 AM PDT Hi guys, so I've been meditating for quite a while and now I wanted to try to add some affirmation, positive self-talk to the meditation but I get stuck. What happens is that when I get into that peaceful state I feel like I'm deeply resting, almost like I'm at the verge of falling asleep which is great and I've read that this is the right state of mind where the positive self-talk should be introduced. However, I'm completely unable to bring some affirmations into the practice. Seems like my mind only wants to rest :) which is great for him, but how do I take my meditations to the next level? How do you guys do it, does anyone have a similar issue? [link] [comments]
Might be a dumb question, but can you potentially lower your heart rate to a dangerous level? Posted: 11 Apr 2020 09:34 PM PDT I just discovered wim hof breathing and found that my heart rate can get crazy slow. I always thought a resting heart rate should be around 60 bmp, but mine is more like 40 while meditating. [link] [comments]
What are your thoughts on Porn/Masturbation/Sex? Posted: 11 Apr 2020 08:32 PM PDT I'll admit that I sometimes watch porn like twice a week while being stoned. Ethically or morally, I don't think there is anything wrong with it and I'm definitely not religious. I'm also single. But, some people say that it can interfere with your spirituality. I can't decide tbh whether it is okay to watch it or not. I'll quit it if I have to. But, I want to know your opinion. I want to keep porn in my life tbh. It is just a good pleasure that I get. Is it okay to watch it or not? not morally or ethically but for spirituality. Please talk about it only from psychological/Scientific/Spiritual perspective and not from what one feels personally or morally about it. I started meditation about 10 months ago and have made really good progress. Please let me know if it is bad for my spirituality and well being or is it okay to watch it every 3-4 days(while being high). Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Apr 2020 03:54 PM PDT Hi, I have started to try meditation to deal with my depression and my habit to bottle up my emotions. I am trying to do it daily. For example recently my father died in October. When meditating my mind drifts to memories of my father. Pent up thoughts flood my mind such as regret, and tears start flowing. After experiencing these emotions they kinda fade away and my 'tranquility' continues. Has anyone else had this experience ? [link] [comments]
Binaural Beats become increasingly powerful over time Posted: 11 Apr 2020 08:17 PM PDT I started using Binaural Beats for Meditation four years ago. Slowly, but steadily, the Binaural Beats had an increasingly powerful effect on my sessions and allowed me to go deeper and more directed. The more I use them, the better they become. Very hard for me to meditate now without them. I highly recommend learning to use different frequencies for different goals. [link] [comments]

Posted: 11 Apr 2020 05:53 PM PDT Does anybody follow the work of dr joe Dispenza? I found him in august 2018 & ever since then I read all his books and his meditations and books changed my life. I do his meditations daily & attended his advanced week long workshop retreat in September of 2019. It was fucking life changing, there was 1,650 people there in 1 room & dr joe led the meditations live. The energy was insane & I had experiences there that I can't even explain. It was pure love. I had 1 out of body experience that forever changed my life. The coherence healing there where 1 person laid In the middle & 8 people surrounded them, called the cage, & we connected to the field & the energy was pure love. Everytime I think of it I still feel that energy. His meditations daily help me so much with my social anxiety & anxiety in general. I would love to connect with anybody who follows him. Or if anybody is looking for a good meditation teacher to follow DR JOE DISPENZA IS THE ONE!!!!!!!!! He's the real shit & he's authentic. I met him in person & I was speechless, he was glowing. He gave me advice that I needed to hear. It was awesome. [link] [comments]

Posted: 12 Apr 2020 01:10 AM PDT Hello Everybody! During this time of lockdown we each have a unique chance to spend time with ourselves and connect more deeply into our state of feeling. I have been utilising the techniques of the Clairvision school of meditation for the past 10 years for self growth and self nurturing, and they have just released their "Portal to inner worlds meditation course" for free! The Clairvision techniques have changed my life so much, and I can't recommend them highly enough! This is a wonderful introduction to some really great techniques of meditation and I highly recommend giving it a go! https://clairvision.org/virtual-meditation-course/index.html?mc\_cid=02af8a342f&mc\_eid=b5d761679f [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Apr 2020 10:43 PM PDT I have been falling asleep lately to guided meditation focused on manifestation, and I really feel like just two days later my mindset has been more positive. I have created my own manifestation mantras that I think would work really well for me, and think it would be powerful to play my own mantras in my own voice while I sleep. I'm thinking I can say them into GarageBand, since it lets me continuously loop and play a song. My question is, what background noises/music should I use specifically for sleep meditation? I really enjoy the music part of the guided meditations. Thanks for reading! [link] [comments]
