Right hamstring feels like its gonna snap at a specific point

    Posted: 06 May 2020 09:07 PM PDT

    Hi everyone

So to get straight to it ive been building alot of leg muscle and strength in the last year and all of a sudden theres feels like a tightness or a stickiness to my right hamstring.

When i try and stretch it out its fine then i reach a spot a little bit before where i can usually stretch to where it feels like its going to snap or pop, it isnt very painful at all but feels like a warning.

Currently im hyperfocusing on it whilst stretching and trying to roll it out and dig into my hamstring and 'unstick the muscles'

Please share any wisdom you may have with me on this problem! Thank you in advance.

Tl;dr Hamstring feels like its gonna snap at a certain point before reaching max stretch not sure how to get past it (left leg can go further, right used to)

Can't sit cross legged on the floor

    Posted: 07 May 2020 02:52 AM PDT

Hello! As the title suggests, I am not terribly flexible. I don't ever remember being able to sit on the floor cross legged. I have been able to avoid it for years but I now have kids who like sitting on the floor to play. I hate that I can't do this very well! I tried yoga classes but only really feel comfortable when i am not having to sit cross legged.

So my question is: how do I address this and how long could it take to see considerable improvement? People tell me to stretch my hips - which is fine but it's vague for what I want to be able to do. Does anyone recommend a follow along or a program?

Has anyone had this problem and overcome it to the point they can sit on the floor easily? I see other people sitting for ages like that and I am fidgeting and adjusting every few minutes. Appreciate any help!

So close but yet so far away.....much improving to do.

At this point it feels like I am close to achieving the front splits (middle is another story) but even at this point my hamstrings feel really tight and I am nowhere close to being able to get a pancake when I straddle.

Slight hyper mobility in my lower back... what are some cool moves to take advantage of this?

    Posted: 06 May 2020 09:03 PM PDT

Getting into increasing my flexibility. Have been doing a basic routine.

I also found out I have slight hyper mobility in my lower back and less so in my arms. Not enough to be medically a problem, just more so than most.

I.e I can already lay my hands flat on the floor when bending over, naturally.

Are there any cool moves/poses I could work my way up to?

Suggestions for gaining flexibility at 30?

    Posted: 06 May 2020 06:31 PM PDT

Title pretty much says it. I'm a 30f who's always been athletic but my hips and hamstrings have always been tight! I have done yoga for years and recently started rock climbing and pole both of which benefit from more flexibility. But I can't seem to figure out how to loosen up my lower half. Any suggestions for exercises?

    Hey lovelies,

I wanted to work on my flexbility and find some good stretch/yoga flows. I watch yoga with adrienne but have yet to find similar videos. I really enjoy headstands and would like to work on splits and overall flexbility. Any tips?

    Thank you :)

Looking for advanced flexibility night time routine. Anyone have any favorite stretches?

    Posted: 06 May 2020 10:07 PM PDT

Im an advanced contortionist been training for 3years started as a dance since age two. Ive been focusing on quad strengthening, standing splits, over splits, shoulder stretches, and abs. Anyone have a before bed routine they recommend for relaxing? I noticed my morning routine gets the heart rate really going after warming up legs and splits.

Kind of hip flexor stretching, further to the middle

    Posted: 06 May 2020 12:41 PM PDT

I want to see if I manage to learn front splits. What's holding me back are the hip flexours closest to the middle of the pelvis (connected to pubic hone I think) and the muscles running from the pelvis towards the knee on the inside of the legs. I can do lunges, lunges with folding the back knee towards the bum, but I don't hit those areas. These prevent me from extending the front leg further and going further into the split and erecting the body. And, if I lay on my back, one leg on the ground the other up and flexed, then they pull the lower leg up. Any ideas what might work?

Really flexible in one pose but stiff as a board in another. Need advice!

    Posted: 06 May 2020 08:44 AM PDT

Hey guys! I have some chronic health issues and so I try to exercise and stretch to keep myself in the best shape I can. I'm really confused about my flexibility (or lack thereof) and would love some advice.

When I do a butterfly, I can get my knees flat to the floor, and if I warm up and work my way down into the stretch, I do a pretty significant forward bend while in butterfly. It feels good, like my hips are stretching, and there's no pain.

However, if I stand up straight and bend down, I can't touch my toes. Any even mild stretching that I do causes a lot of pain behind my knees and in the backs of my thighs. There's never any light stretching sensation; instead I get this intense burning pain. If I hold the position for too long, my feet and toes start to get tingly, even if I'm barely stretching.

Why am I so flexible in butterfly but not while touching my toes? I assume it's different muscle groups? What are the muscles that are so inflexible and how do I work on them?
