| Fell into a near split, how to heal up Posted: 24 Aug 2020 01:55 AM PDT A couple of days ago I fell and my left leg went forward and my right leg went back. I'm fine on the left but my right abductor is strained. I assume I should avoid stretching my legs until it heals up? Problem is my hamstrings are so tight after doing shotgun squats. Normally I'd do a good leg stretching routine and ease the tightness but I don't want to irritate the abductor. I find walking eases out all of the pain but as soon as I sit or sleep, all the pain comes back. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 23 Aug 2020 11:23 PM PDT I have sciatica pain in my right calf when I fully straighten out my leg, especially when I do a kick in front of me(teep kick), it's a stabbing/sharp pain. Are there any ways to fix it? I've also been doing nerve flossing for two weeks now [link] [comments] | ||

| Front Split Progression - Sharp pain behind knees Posted: 23 Aug 2020 09:52 PM PDT I've started progressing on my front splits 4 months ago but I can't get my leg straight in any capacity. When I try, I have a sharp pain behind the knee of my front leg. If I were standing and lifted my leg straight in front of me, it would hurt behind my knee starting at around 90 degrees. I looked this up and saw "nerve flossing" as a solution but it's just not getting me anywhere. Any suggestions? I'm progressively getting lower to the ground but i have to keep my front knee bent quite a lot to do so. TIA! [link] [comments] | ||

| How to get rid of skin rolls when doing back stretches? Posted: 23 Aug 2020 08:05 PM PDT I'm not overweight, but when I do stretches like backbends, I have loose skin that scrunches/rolls on my back. (It's hard to describe) When I look at contortionist, it seems they don't have this problem. I'm curious if anyone is like this too though, and I'm looking for advice! :D [link] [comments] | ||
| This no BS, ASAP leg flexibility routine got me the splits in record time :) Posted: 23 Aug 2020 03:15 AM PDT Hi! Title isn't clickbait, and I thought I'd share! When I started doing ballet, I was quite inflexible yet I wanted to find the most time efficient way to get flexible, because:
After plateauing really hard after about 7 months of daily stretching, I had to learn and experiment as much as I could in order to devise a flexibility routine that could get me results as fast as possible. This is the breakthrough routine that got me said results. I modified it to update it with everything I've learned ever since and so that it can be done by beginners. I highly recommend you check out both these documents, because I also included, in the reference sheet, a ton of information that will certainly prove useful, as well as a thorough explanation to every exercise. Reference Sheet: https://docdro.id/vDxxnsi Cheat Sheet: https://imgur.com/VU30nos I was thinking of adding the daily mobility routine (it's like 10 minutes and can replace a leg warmup) and by back flexibility/mobility routine, but this was such a big time investment that I'd rather see if anyone finds it useful before commiting any extra time. | Posted: 23 Aug 2020 02:28 PM PDT "Extensions" "Contractions" wrist flexibility "contractions" Hey guys, M23 here, and I've had some issues in improving my wrist mobility/flexibility, especially in the extensions (? whatever is the movement in the picture). In the other direction (contractions?) I can get to about 90 degrees without using any issues at all, but in the extensions my left hand is below average and my right hand is horrible. My issue is that when I try to stretch by pulling my hand I easily get to 90 degrees on both hands in the extensions as well and I don't feel it stretching at all, but without support this is what it looks like. Firstly , what do you guys think, am I simply too weak in the "extension-muscle" alternatively too strong in the "contraction-muscle? Secondly, how should I solve it? should I try stretching somehow, massaging my "contraction-muscle" or work out my extension-muscle? For context I would say I a very strong grip, been doing dealifts for years, waterski, climbing etc which could explain possible inbalance in strength. As for the difference in the hands I think it is because I spend a lot of time gaming hence clicking a mouse for hours, keeping my right hand tense all day. Primarily, I wanna solve the difference in right hand left hand, but in general I don't wanna run the risk of carpel tunnel, which is a risk if you're at the computer a lot and since I don't know how to really improve, it's difficult. TLDR; need help improving my wrist flexibility [link] [comments] | ||
