- Camel is one of our favorite backbends because it activates so many parts of the body and is also super adaptable. It’s an amazing stretch for the whole front body while also working both the front and back of the core.

- Someone recently told me about active isolated stretching. Does it actually work. I feel like after solid 50 reps, I've increased my range of motion quite a bit. I assume my back posture is bad as well. Feedback/tips/advice?

- I can also pick up my leg and hook it under my ribcage, and rotate my spine a good amount. I can also do plenty with my arms, but I thought I'd start off simple.

| Increasing Flexibility in my ankles as a swimmer. Posted: 04 Aug 2020 07:25 PM PDT I'm a swimmer that has terrible flexibility. I recently got into how flexibility plays a huge role in swimming. I have noticed that my ankle flexibility is complete garbage most importantly my planter flexors. I struggle doing basic planter flexor stretches while my brother who hasn't swam and barely exorcise can do all of them with ease and no pain. After about a week of full body stretches and emphasis on my ankles it has improved but it still causes a ton of pain when doing. How long before I can start doing these stretches with relative ease. The stretches I am trying to achieve are show in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7m271f0CTms . I can do the first one easily. The second one is doable but causes a lot of pain but I've been able to do it longer each day. The last one is the hardest. I can't sit on my but at all. Is it still possible to achieve this kind of flexibility after doing these stretches for months? I also want to achieve this: https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiA3dPMl0UMmGx3nVl5DZnn9MD3vY-1s1HbRofjF8ewUDOPmSDeoGwDhVQav1dwYJJAqxGv2Lf_DKj_Ip1ZeOphP5MnQLSKodbQRnBzv_pQHW57AQ4NrxCqEipb-Z-OHrlnyLU3RYujyX0/s1600/cassie-feet1.jpg . Any suggestion would greatly be appreciated. I also want to mention that after doing the stretches in the video my legs feel like spaghetti and the side of my knees hurt a ton. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 04 Aug 2020 09:42 PM PDT Hi everyone! New to this sub. I've been getting quite a bit of groin and hip pain and I think this is related to weak heap flexors. Does anyone have exercises for me to improve my hip strength and flexibility. Thanks :) [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 04 Aug 2020 06:29 PM PDT Or should you be doing more than one stretch? I lack flexibility overall. I've got a few goals I'd like to accomplish with stretching. All include range of motion or mobility during weighted exercises. [link] [comments] | ||

| Sitting on knees/heels (Seiza) Posted: 04 Aug 2020 09:03 AM PDT Has anyone ever overcame not being able to sit on their knees (Seiza)? Because when I try, my knees feel like they want to explode and I am unable to put my but all the way to my heels If you've had this problem before and overcame it I'd like to hear what you've done [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 04 Aug 2020 11:50 AM PDT Hello, I'm starting my flexibility journey. I'm a former dancer and used to be quite flexible but I've never had my middle split. I have a cousin that's a gymnast and she said I've been stretching it wrong this entire time!! My question is, what way should your knees face when in a middle split? Should they face forward or up/out? Should your hips be turned out or in neutral? Thanks! [link] [comments] | ||
| How long did it take you to get middle splits? Posted: 04 Aug 2020 05:09 AM PDT I have always stretched for my sport, and can do front splits really easily, but I am struggling and stuck at 8cm off the ground for middle. I wanted to finally get flat during the restrictions cos of Covid-19, but I really am not improving at all despite stretching for 30min, 5 times a week. I am getting a bit frustrated. I am 24 years old, female. Any tips appreciated. Do I need to add longer time? More intense stretches? [link] [comments] |
