Day 3 of 3p days of Yoga With Adriene Posted: 04 Aug 2020 09:15 AM PDT I've been following yoga with Adriene's 30 days of yoga series. Today I was a bit wobbly but I was able to steady myself. I don't have great core strength or balance. I've been yoga for 3 weeks now. I have noticed I'm gaining some muscles. [link] [comments]
Modifications or advice when all glute stretching poses hurt knees Posted: 04 Aug 2020 07:05 PM PDT Hello! I have hyper mobile joints and tight glutes. All the glute-specific poses I know; figure four (seated and supine) and pigeon, hurt my knee. I am flexing my toes back, and that doesn't change it, I still feel like my knee is being torqued. If I back off to the point my knee doesn't hurt I don't feel a stretch. What modifications or advice is there to get glute stretch but no knee pain? The front of my hips are really flexible, so the reason I'm not just not doing the flute stretches is because I want my hips to be evenly flexible so as not to cause other issues (: [link] [comments]
Intense emotion/relaxation/exhaustion after eagle and pigeon? Posted: 04 Aug 2020 12:55 PM PDT The past 4 days I've been doing a 50 min Iyengar style sequence, near the end there is an extended eagle pose and then a few poses later goes into pigeon. Both of these wipe me out. By the end I feel in a deep relaxed but also super tired state, and also kind of sad. The feeling lasts for hours after. I've heard these poses can be intense. What's going on? [link] [comments]
What to do after yogawithadriene’s 30 days of yoga? Posted: 04 Aug 2020 03:38 PM PDT Just started her 30 day challenge and I'm wondering what I can do after I complete it. Any other good yoga challenges or videos that adriene does to help me improve? [link] [comments]

Does extra weight stop you doing some moves? Posted: 04 Aug 2020 10:48 AM PDT Hello! I've been doing yoga on and off for a couple of years. Im not very flexible but I keep trying however one thing which I just cannot do and doesnt seem to be to do with flexibility is low lunge. I cannot get my hands to touch the floor on both sides of my knee. Now, is this potentially because I have boobs/too much stomach - or are my arms too short? Or is this actually a flexibility issue somehow? I can put one hand on the floor and the very fingertips of the hand which has the knee forward but not enough to put weight on it. I dont think its to do with my hips as I can do the lunge where the leg is on the outside of the arms. Any help or explanations gratefully received! [link] [comments]
Considering take yoga certification course Posted: 04 Aug 2020 03:46 PM PDT I am considering learning yoga and becoming teacher certified as I have recently come to love yoga and (already) love travel. Looking any advice from seasoned teachers...what would you recommend /advise for someone considering this? [link] [comments]
I’m 3.5 months postpartum and twists aren’t working. Posted: 04 Aug 2020 05:58 PM PDT I still kinda feel like my insides are jumbled up. When can I safely attempt twists again? I had a c section. [link] [comments]
Wanting to start a weekly yoga... thing at my local library Posted: 04 Aug 2020 01:41 PM PDT Hi all, I'm a librarian and I want to start a regular yoga meetup at my local library, probably next year. We've tried this program before, and it didn't work, partially because we couldn't get people to come consistently enough. And partially I think because we were trying to follow along with a month long series from Yoga with Adrienne, and sometimes mixing it up and doing other videos. What I want to do is to have it in the mornings (9:30 when my library opens) until probably 10:30 /11. -People able to come in when they have time, or not and not miss anything. -A regular program to encourage people to come, meet others and practice regularly, even if they aren't following a program. Would it make sense to have posters/worksheets for different sun salutations/ flows around the room? I'm also open to other ideas on how to make this work. [link] [comments]
Virasana Pose (pain in the knees) Posted: 04 Aug 2020 10:44 AM PDT Whenever i try the W-Sit, also known as the virasana pose, my knee ligament feels like it's stretching and i can't sit back fully. Should i keep trying to stretch or should i stop in general. [link] [comments]
Move to a new place, haven't practiced because of layout and rug. Help! Posted: 04 Aug 2020 12:55 PM PDT Hello all, I recently moved to a new place and I have neglected my practice. Partially because moving occupied my time but also because we have a rug that I can't get around. I always practice near a window and the bedroom is the only space that would work for this. We have a large rug under our bed but there is no space for me to lay down my mat. I'm used to practicing on hard floor + mat. The rug doesn't roll up. AH! I have no idea how to organize a practice space here that faces a window. [link] [comments]

Is a sauna too hot for 60/90 minutes of Bikram yoga? Posted: 04 Aug 2020 12:24 PM PDT My gym does not have a warm yoga room, so I usually just go to the sauna for a little bit before going to do my 90 minute class in the stretching room. While my muscles stay warm for a while, they feel cold and tight again by the end of my session. Is a sauna too hot to do yoga? I would like to try it in there, but I worry that staying in for so long will be harmful. [link] [comments]
| Standing forward fold substitutions Posted: 04 Aug 2020 03:53 PM PDT What can I do instead of a standing forward fold that will still have similar transitions to/from? I am not really able fold at all (Nowhere near any of these is attainable for me), and I'd like something to do other than stand there and wait for the next asana as it kind of takes me out of the moment. | What's a good guide/ video I can look at for muscle building yoga. Posted: 04 Aug 2020 11:57 AM PDT I've been doing almost exclusive body weight excersises and want to include yoga. I'd like a routine that is pretty challenging on the muscles but is easy enough for someone not super flexible. [link] [comments] |
Looking for a video or something similar Posted: 04 Aug 2020 03:07 PM PDT Hello all, Back around...oh hm...I want to say 2010 or so, I was able to download a short (15-20 minute-ish) kundalini yoga class led by Sarah Kline. I was once subscribed to yoga today.com, but I don't believe the video is on that site any more, and I originally got it through iTunes via their podcast. It started out with standing and twisting of the spine led to the breath, and also included cat/cow, frog, and a few other poses. If anyone knows where I can find it or something similar, I would greatly appreciate it! I am willing to purchase, of course. [link] [comments]
I want to start doing yoga to build strength. Where should I start? Posted: 04 Aug 2020 02:50 PM PDT I have been doing yoga on and off for about 4 years now. I still consider myself a beginner but I think I have a lot of potential since I used to dance as a kid and all the flexibility is there. I recently realized that I hate working out and doing cardio since I don't have any space in my apartment and it's too hot in Texas to workout outside. We are also under quarantine. Any advice/tips, good YouTube channels, etc please let me know. Thank you! [link] [comments]
Does tree pose hurt anyone else’s inner thigh? Posted: 04 Aug 2020 02:38 PM PDT My foot like stretches my thigh skin so much and I can't do tree pose because of this. Does anyone have any tips? Thanks ♥️ [link] [comments]
