| Did you know you are the Universe? Posted: 14 Sep 2020 08:48 AM PDT Be here, now. Don't judge it. Don't rush it. Don't try to be somewhere else. Being in the past leads to depression. Being in the future leads to anxiety. Relax your mind. Focus on the present. Be one with it. Get with it. That feeling you get when you relax into it, that's you. Be with yourself. Channel it in everything you do. Don't let your ego lie to you and tell you need to be somewhere else or do something different. That's the ego of the body. Be compassionate to yourself and relax into it. Be part of it. Be one with it. I love you because I love. ~You [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 14 Sep 2020 09:08 AM PDT Ask yourself this question in the most literal sense. Are you waiting for a package from Amazon? Are you waiting for the day you find the love of your life? Maybe you're waiting for COVID-19 to be done with so life can return to normal. Everything you wait for ties yourself to a future that doesn't exist. Waiting for something either makes you desire something you don't have now or fear something that hasn't even transpired. It takes you away from what the present moment has to offer you. The next time you catch yourself waiting for something, let it go. You'll be more content with what you have now. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 14 Sep 2020 03:30 PM PDT Here is a list of tips that I have found from various places (talks, books, apps, etc.) and they have all helped me deepen my meditation practice tremendously, and I hope they may be able to help those beginning their meditation journey. I am in no way claiming that I have invented any of these ancient techniques, merely listing them.
I hope this was helpful! Most importantly, BE PATIENT. Meditation is like planting a tree and slowly caring for it. It takes a while for it to bare fruit, but getting rewarded by the fruit of life is a worthy cause to continue to meditate each day. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 14 Sep 2020 03:23 PM PDT So this morning since I woke up early enough at 4:30am I decided to meditate for 15 minutes before I got ready for work, and I set my intentions for the day. This is one of the first times I've tried this and my intentions were to have a relaxing laid back day at work. Now either it's just luck or I really created my day by setting my intentions but I got exactly what I asked for. Im a welder btw and I got sent down to the other building I work in where I enjoy it more and got to weld on a air filter tank which I enjoy and the whole day was pretty laid back. Curious to know if you guys think this was just a stroke of luck or if I really did change the outcome of my day by simply setting my intentions for the day. [link] [comments] |

| Can you maintain a Theta state during the day. Posted: 14 Sep 2020 10:35 PM PDT I spend my days in irritability and panic and impatience, but almost everyday very late at night. I enter this mood where everything is alright with my life. I become able to look at what happened and what is happening and realise that it is in fact OK and easy to deal with. Most of the pain in my body disappears, it's kind of like taking a small dose of opiates or being an benzos. This state happens during the day too where I first leave dream land and start waking up. But as I open my eyes and try to get out of bad. A thousand anxious toughts all crawl up at once. I have come to realise that this state is called Theta. Now I have done meditation in the past but while it made me feel like I'm in the moment. The downside was that I didn't like the moment. I didn't like what I saw and what I heard, which is probably the reason I became absent minded in the first place. My question is, can you actually spend the day on a Theta-like state ? And how do you reach the state during the day ? [link] [comments] |
| Holding my breath gives me clarity in thought. Anyone else relate? Posted: 14 Sep 2020 10:31 PM PDT Hey y'all! Recently been realizing that inhaling deeply, then holding my breath (during or outside of meditation) calms me down a lot and gives me clarity in thought. Exhaling is anxiety-provoking. I know that might sound weird haha, but looking to see if anyone can majorly relate and share their experiences...very new experience for me (happening for the past week-ish) that I'm trying to further understand. | Can we just take a second to appreciate our mind, emotions, and sight?? Posted: 14 Sep 2020 09:53 PM PDT Without our minds we wouldn't comprehend, without our emotions, we would not learn from mistakes, and without sight, we wouldn't see our creativity and what makes us divine. Love your brain and for what it does because it does it tirelessly, even when we sleep, it's up burning the midnight oil, cleansing your body of old toxic wastes. Welcome emotions inside because of its information from reality to sense each other's actions, moreover they let you express love, kindness, which leads us to a better understanding of ourselves and the universe. Cleanse your ego of all hostility, animosity, and bitterness, be aware of them, and heal them with new thoughts that come from rationalization, love, and forgiveness. Train your brain and your emotions, blessing on blessings. (: [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 14 Sep 2020 01:47 PM PDT I'm just mulling over my journey in life. While I still struggle I am now perhaps happier and more satisfied than I have ever been. Meditation has played a key role of late, but other investments have been equally important over the years. I have transformed my body and diet and social life as well. It occurs to me that all of these involve short term sacrifice and the sitting with discomfort for long term gain. The invitation of the suffering involved in a difficult physical workout, say a long run, is closely mirrored by the discomfort of a long meditation session. The body protests both, you invite soreness and pain and discomfort, knowing that you are also inviting great peace, acceptance and comfort into your life. The same can be said of a healthy diet. At first the body and mind protests the blander taste, the loss of immediate overstimulation provided by a fatty and overly sweet diey. But in time the body reaps rewards, one feels calmer, more relaxed. With all of these too, when joy comes it is magnified greatly by the practise of self denial and discipline. We all have good and bad days and meditation doesn't change this. But the good days I am so much more plugged into and aware of in my body now. As a runner to one does not always get that runners high but it feels so much more satisfying and earned than the high of alcohol or weed that I used to chase. With food too, the smaller weekly indulgences I allow myself are so much sweeter and wonderful. A cookie tastes like heaven now lol. There is great wisdom in the short term sacrifice of self investment. And meditation is but one cornerstone. [link] [comments] |
| how to cope with distress that seems to arise out of nowhere? Posted: 14 Sep 2020 10:14 PM PDT over the past week i've been feeling bouts INTENSE frustration, anger and anxiety. i'm trying to stay mindful and am continuing to meditate through the rage, but it's upsetting because i don't know where this has come from. i don't know how to address it! i'm focusing on turning towards the emotion as well as allowing myself to feel it instead of pushing it away, but the anger and anxiety remains constant throughout the day. bubbling and exploding and then simmering again, only to erupt over and over no matter what i do. i was doing really well and was healing from some bad trauma that occurred last year, and now this issue alone is frustrating me. i logically know it's not "holding back" or stopping my healing, but damn i just want to be somewhat relaxed again for longer than 30 minutes. how do i address pain that doesn't seem to have a core? when i meditate to try and find it, there seems to be a huge amount of resistance i haven't encountered before. my brain WILL NOT let me enter that part. is there a way i can ease into this? any advice would be amazing, thanks [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 15 Sep 2020 01:50 AM PDT Post title sums it up. I know that this is different for everyone, but I would like some discussion on how this felt getting into it for other people. I like to sit really comfortably. I try to make my surroundings quiet-ish, but there is the occasional noise. I try to remain focused on my breathing despite this. Sometimes my mind wanders, but when I notice, I bring myself back around to my breathing. Breathing is generally my focus as of now. I try to sit for 10 minutes at least, with my eyes closed, and breathe. I'm feel an effect straight away, which is clearly the placebo and I can tell it is, but despite that it still increases my mood and focus, and I'll take that happily. When did you all start to feel as if it was making a positive impact in your whole life overall? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 15 Sep 2020 01:47 AM PDT Hey guys, I'm new to meditation, and i've heard it is best to start with guided meditation, so that's what i have been doing. BUT, as the person leading the meditation tells me to imagine an ancient oak tree, another entity etc. my mind cannot picture it, all i see is darkness, and then my mind gets carried away. I looked into it and i think i may have Aphantasia. How do people with Aphantasia meditate and figure out their higher self? [link] [comments] |
| I keep hearing music during my breath focus stage, it doesn't stop! Posted: 14 Sep 2020 06:55 PM PDT So I am currently doing the Headspace Pro level 2, and the thing is that when I reached today the breath focus stage, it abruptly started playing pop music in my brain. I wanted to stop this feeling by noticing it came under the "Chasing After" effect. But the more I notice the worse it gets and the Music never stops. I just could not focus. It ruined my meditation. It is literally with me playing inside my head. How to overcome this? I hope I get a response. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
| does anyone else talk to themselves while they meditate? Posted: 15 Sep 2020 12:36 AM PDT the best way i've found to ground myself is to use my own voice almost as a guides meditation. idk if this is something that is commonly done by people (and i don't do it every time). could this be negatively affecting me in some way? is this good? | The Similarities Between Meditation and Prayer Posted: 14 Sep 2020 08:49 PM PDT I hold a personal belief that both meditation and prayer are suppose to essentially be the same thing. I think the western world just calls their form of meditation prayer. I think the main difference now days though is that lots of people think when they pray they only ask for things while I think when people meditate they are more inclined to just listen. Really when people pray they should be listening for that still small voice but that is rarely done today. Do any of you think prayer and meditation are the same thing? [link] [comments] |
| There is no place of thoughts in reality. Posted: 14 Sep 2020 02:52 AM PDT I just realised that there are two type of world. One is in our head and one is outside which is your true excistance. The REALITY. Seeing the reality without thought is so peaceful and relax. I just realised it. [link] [comments] |
| Cognizance of universal synchronicity defines conscious living. Posted: 14 Sep 2020 03:46 PM PDT "Meditation is connecting to the basis that everything in existence is one by virtue of present moment awareness. Observation of breath brings a centered existence to which attentiveness in God self is heightened." [link] [comments] |
