Ive never been able to touch my toes nor touch the floor with my heels when in downward dog:-( Posted: 27 Jan 2021 02:44 PM PST Ive only been doing yoga for about a year now but I've enjoyed it so thoroughly and it's made my life so much lovelier that I've been doing it very regularly. I usually do between 10mins - 1 hour in a day, on and off. I've always been a healthy weight & I'm quite an active person however I've never been very flexible really! Ive practised forward fold and tried as hard as I can with breathing techniques and patience and repetition to touch my toes but I just don't even get close, and I feel as though I'm not getting any better. In other poses I face similar issues; in downward dog the back of my heels can't touch the floor. Im still very much an amateur at yoga but I'd really like to know how to keep improving my flexibility! Should I just keep practicing poses aimed at flexibility and my body will just gradually relax more? Sorry if these are all stupid questions, as I said I'm still quite new! Thanks so much:-) [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 Jan 2021 01:11 PM PST When I stretch out one or both legs, I usually hear and feel uncomfortable pops in my hip sockets where my leg bones attach. The only exception is if I am on my back and my legs are moving straight up into the air. What could be causing this and how do I help prevent it? [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Jan 2021 03:43 PM PST Is that possible that yoga before sleep might make me lucid dream? I just started doing yoga every night before sleep only recently, like 2 week and what I noticed already on 2nd day was that I was able to remember my dreams way much more better. And I really mean it. And in those dreams, I feel much better also. I feel more in control, more powerful, more confident than ever. And I wake more relaxed and with a great mood too. Usually I just don't remember anything, or have light nightmares where I feel powerless. But after I started yoga, the shift was literally shocking. Every single day a very live dream where I feel great and in control. Anybody else experienced this? [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Jan 2021 07:25 PM PST Hi there! I'm pretty new to yoga, I just started attended a hot yoga class daily about two weeks ago. I have developed some pretty hardcore bruising along my spine and tailbone and I am wondering if it's due to bad form? Or maybe there is some way to avoid this from happening? [link] [comments]
| guys I bought this fitness mat (born for yoga though) have you ever tried it? Posted: 27 Jan 2021 11:38 AM PST Hey guys ! I'm new to reddit, I'm Italian forgive me so if I'm wrong to write 😂. | Does anyone have any tips on improving half/full locust pose? Posted: 27 Jan 2021 03:05 PM PST Self explanatory title. I have so much trouble keeping my pelvis up in this pose, so i can't get my legs up more than ~4-5 inches off the ground. Any tips or warm ups that help improve this pose? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Jan 2021 08:00 AM PST Hi Everyone! I've been looking for a video for a while with no luck and thought someone here might know. It's a Rodney Yee video and I thought it was called vinyasa flow (maybe that's how it was described). He is inside for the video and I think it runs about an hour. I used to use this video years ago and then it was removed from YouTube. After that I couldn't find it again and I'm still looking. Also, I'd love any suggestions for vinyasa videos! If you have one you love, please share! [link] [comments]
What are your favorite at-home workout programs that complement your yoga practice? Posted: 27 Jan 2021 01:55 PM PST Hey all! I am looking for an at-home fitness program that can complement my yoga. I stream yoga classes virtually from my favorite studio, but have also been using Glo which I enjoy for streaming videos on-demand. Years ago, I used to be an avid member of Tone It Up (fitness program aimed towards women) and I used to love their old model that would release daily and weekly workout plans and give you an actual schedule of workouts to follow every day. I loved the organization of that and do best having a schedule of planned workouts to follow, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any other app programs that were set up like this. They changed when they moved over to their new app and I didn't like following it anymore. Any feedback is welcome, it doesn't have to be free, I am willing to pay for a subscription if it's worth it. Again, looking for something that provides a schedule and plan rather than selecting videos on-demand. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Ananda Balasana causing lower back pain Posted: 27 Jan 2021 09:38 AM PST I understand if something hurts it's kind of a signal for potentially skipping that pose but I'm interested as to why this pose(Ananda Balasana) would cause quite significant pain in my lumbar spine, it's almost like a ripping/ tearing feeling. Uttanasana also replicates the pain. [link] [comments]
Yogis, How do you not get wedgies and discomfort in the groin area when switching poses? Posted: 27 Jan 2021 12:39 PM PST I know it sounds ridiculous, but as a guy I always get wedgies and the the groin always seems to get in the way for certain poses where you need the legs together. Is there specific gear or clothing that helps? I usually don't wear a shirt as I run hot, and usually have thermals which are pretty much leggings when practicing. So frustrating 😫 [link] [comments]
What are your favorite pants to practice in? Posted: 27 Jan 2021 05:21 AM PST Hi everyone, looking for some suggestions! My high-rise leggings always roll or dig into my belly and certain poses, it's really frustrating and I feel like it takes away from my practice when I'm unrolling them or pulling them up. What are your favorite pants to practice in that you feel you don't have to adjust? [link] [comments]
What’s been your longest yoga session ever? Posted: 27 Jan 2021 10:04 AM PST Small breaks included, like snacking or bathroom posting on Reddit 😏. Just curious because I feel like I just want to spend all day on the mat today 😂 [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Jan 2021 08:55 AM PST Could anyone share their opinion about the quality of Jade yoga mats? Thanks! [link] [comments]
