    I looked up online infos about this meditation and I saw different versions of this practice and I was wondering which one is the actual correct one.

    About the respiration:

    • Version 1
      inhale right nostril / exhale right nostril (x5 times) and the same for the left one
      then breathe normally 5 times
      then inhale from the left / exhale from the right and viceversa (x5 times)
    • Version 2
      inhale right nostril / exhale right nostril, same for the left one (at least for minutes)

    About the hand:

    • should I put the index and middle fingers in the "third-eye" like in the version 1 or not?

    About the posture:

    • Can i sit in a chair with my left hand on the knee or I have to sit crossed?

    Padmasana vs Pranayama

    All, I understood Padmasana is adviced in order to do Pranayama. However is it a must?

    Is it dangerous to practice pranayama without sitting in padmasana, but by example just sitting cross legged?

    What are alternatives to padmasana while practising pranayama?
