Is it normal to get so emotional over yoga? Posted: 20 Mar 2021 09:08 PM PDT It's not like I'm a pro or anything, but for the past couple months I've been doing Yoga with Adriene every night before bed as sort of a routine. Last month I decided to try the 30 day Breath series and made it to the end tonight. I was so emotional and couldn't stop sobbing at the end. I'm not sad? just super emotional and overwhelmed and even a little proud. I'd never been able to do yoga without feeling good enough, skinny enough, or skilled enough. Has anyone else had this reaction during their yoga practices or am I just overreacting? [link] [comments] |
scapula position in downdog, handstand, etc.. Posted: 20 Mar 2021 12:16 PM PDT Hello everyone! I'm confused about the scapula or shoulderblade position in different poses. While doing yoga I often hear "shoulders away from the ears" in downward facing dog. While looking at the correct handstand alignement nearly every source says to push the arms into the ground so your scapula elevates. That lead me into googling again for the correct position in downdog and I found this video, saying to elevate the scapula as well (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txvOBAbgibU&t=2s). What are your opinions? [link] [comments] |
What clothing can I wear that isn't tight? Posted: 20 Mar 2021 07:50 AM PDT I will be joining a yoga class soon and was wondering what I should wear! I've tried Googling it, but all I can see that's recommended are skin-tight tops and leggings. I personally don't feel very comfortable wearing tight clothing, so wondered if there is anything else suitable I can wear? Also, what should I wear to an outdoor class? Any specific brands would be helpful, too. Thanks so much for any help in advance! :) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 19 Mar 2021 08:44 PM PDT I've been doing the p90x yoga video from a few years back pretty religiously. Would you consider this to be a solid program? If not, what specifically are the downsides to it? [link] [comments] |
Does this YTT sound legit? (East+West yoga) Posted: 20 Mar 2021 01:15 AM PDT I'm strongly considering doing this online YTT offered by East+West yoga as my first YTT while I have time to do it because of covid etc Does anyone have experience with their courses? Does the info look legit? Also, has anyone done an online YTT here? was the experience positive? Thanks! :) [link] [comments] |
Wife wants to get an "instagram-ready" physique with aerial yoga, possible? Posted: 20 Mar 2021 08:27 AM PDT So my wife has been talking about getting into aerial yoga (she's never done yoga in her life), since she finds regular gym workouts to be boring. Since we're also planning a few tropical vacations in the summer, she also hopes to kill 2 birds with 1 stone by getting instagram-ready physique wise. Does aerial yoga (or yoga in general) have such benefits? Or would she likely have to supplement with some traditional weight-lifting? Her current physique is already I would say 80% there. She's not overweight or anything, but would like to cut down on some belly chub, build her glutes, and get a nice thigh gap. [link] [comments] |
