    Relaxing in stretch

    Posted: 03 Apr 2021 01:35 AM PDT

Isn't it fine if we're relaxing in a deep stretch like full straddle for a long time like 5-10 mins or maybe longer? or is it overstretch? because sometimes I just feel like sleeping when doing middle split while resting my body on floor. It's entirely different with the front split due to requiring some muscles engagement like squeezing the glutes and core for efficiency. I'm asking this for worrying if I should have finish the stretches quickly for the warmed muscles getting cold by time.

Any advice or comments about my routine?

    Posted: 02 Apr 2021 02:02 PM PDT

Hello everyone! I want to become more flexible in all areas hehe So, I went on a search to find some that could work for me. I've made up this plan:

I'd say I'm on the intermediate level when it comes to legs and hips, and beginner with back stretches. I didn't link here, but I might use Anna's shoulders stretch routine as well. I was thinking of doing Anna's and Blogilates' every day and the cortortionist routine 3x or 4x a week, as to not push the muscles a lot.

Although I'm intermediate (because of years of dance) I'm not so sure if there's a right order to stretch. Should I stretch from head to toe, or toe to head? Is it all very excessive? I'll always warm up first, obviously. Should I only stretch a group a day?

    Hip muscle imbalances

Can weak abductors cause tight adductors? My adductors feel strong, but they are tight and unbelievably hard. When I try to open my legs into sumo squat or frog stretch I get pain in my abductors and my adductors lock up completely.

    Help fixing duck foot

    Posted: 02 Apr 2021 02:26 PM PDT

Hi, if this is the wrong subreddit please point me in the direction of the right one.

So my right foot has been pointed out 25-30 degrees most of my life, while my other foot is point close to straight forward.

Research has told my to make sure my hips flexors aren't tight, but I've been doing yoga since quarantine started which has a ton of hip stretching. I'm not super flexible, but I would say my hamstrings are very tight so I'm not sure if that could contribute at all.

It seems like it could be originating at my hip as my whole leg is oriented the same as my foot.

Does anyone have any idea what I would need to do to fix this? I assume some muscle is too tight and causing this but I'm at a loss at what it would be.

Pain behind knees when stretching to touch my toes

    Posted: 02 Apr 2021 11:53 AM PDT

It's a flexibility issue but from what I read and noticed, it's not muscle flexibility. The sciatic nerve runs back from under there and limits me touching my toes, which is causing issues deadlifting without bending knees too much. Does anyone know of this issue and/or has fixed it. I read sciatic nerve flossing helps. Really confused atm.
