I didn't realize how crappy my old yoga mat was until I got a new one. Posted: 21 May 2021 12:29 PM PDT About a year and half ago on a whim I went to one of the sports superstores and bought a yoga mat to check out a drop in class. Fast forward I've been doing yoga for the past five months. I got a new yoga mat from a swag shop at work. I can see the difference between the two when I lay them out side by side. Funny thing is, they both cost the same. I'm sure the swag one is very subsidized. There are no markings on either so I can't tell what they are made of. How do you pick a mat? Do you go by brand, material, something else? [link] [comments] |
Do you follow your breath while doing yoga? Posted: 21 May 2021 12:25 PM PDT I really don't. My instructor guides each step with the breath but the movement is so slow that I have a hard time taking deep breaths that last each movement. So I end up doing inhale and exhale in each step. If I take too deep an inhale during a single step I feel as if I'm running out of oxygen. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 May 2021 04:55 PM PDT Today I got 100% down for the sleeping pigeon pose. It was completely unexpected. Just last weekend I was using a block to support my hip, and a bolster to lie down for 5min yin hold, and today it just all came together. It was during a stretching yoga video, and when I realized how easy it was to get, I couldn't believe it. I went and watched other videos just on the pose to make sure I wasn't doing it wrong. I'm thinking that maybe doing the long holds during the yin video might have helped? Maybe I'll try to figure out how to set up my phone for a picture at some point. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 21 May 2021 03:39 PM PDT Does anybody know any free videos that are good for beginners. I've been doing yoga for a month and I've been using short videos to add to 35 minutes. I don't like having to go through different 5 minute videos when I feel there could be a longer video that would perfectly fit what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a full body vinyasa flow for beginners for 30+ minutes. If anybody knows some good ones that are good for beginners please link them I'm in desperate need of a good yoga routine. Posted: 21 May 2021 07:55 AM PDT How long before yoga actually feels good lol. Im not flexible at all trying to be Ive paid for the down dog app and have been doing it consistently well only for 10 minutes a day so when does that switch happen where you actually enjoy it [link] [comments] |

Posted: 21 May 2021 05:30 AM PDT When I kneel the tops of my feet often hurt, and sometimes lose circulation depending on how long I'm doing it. I also lose circulation when I cross legged or half lotus for meditation. Is this just my body? Does anybody have any tips to help? [link] [comments] |
