    Super Tight Hamstrings

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 09:56 PM PDT

I'm 19 and am super inflexible. When I sit in the ground with my legs fully extended my back is not straight up, instead it is obtuse angle. When i stand and try to touch my toes i can only reach my knees. It is very bad. I looked at all the starting exercise and i can barely even do them. Is there anything I can start off with that is simple and effective and not tooo overwhelming for now. Sorry for bad english, not my native language

    Starting to stretch

    Posted: 15 Jun 2021 03:22 AM PDT

Ive just started following the beginner programme as I have very poor flexibility. However i have a few problems with the exercises in the programme. In the rear hand clasp the arm which is doing the pulling (the higher arm) starts getting worked in the bicep thus the lower arm feels it in the tricep. Is this the aim, or is it due to poor form?

In the video it says the lower arm is supposed to be worked but dosent metntion the top arm.

    Key factors to get flexibility?

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 10:05 AM PDT

A question to you that have gone from being stiff to become flexible. What do you believe your key factors was to get the results? Staying in the stretch for shorter times but very frequently, staying in the stretch longer and then letting the body rest or ...?

    Flexibility Stagnation (routine in post)

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 11:02 AM PDT

I started stretching in Feb. 2020 with the goal of getting my middle splits. By June 2020 I could do them somewhat after 45 minutes of stretching. Fastforward to June 2021-no progress. By this time I was stretching one hour a day. I would say I skip a day about once every two weeks, never on purpose. My routing looked something like this (sorry I don't know all the terms; I hope it makes sense):

    -ankle holds (5 minutes)

-gentle middle split hold (10 minutes)

    -butterfly+deep lunge (5 minutes)

-gentle middle split hold (10 minutes)

    -pigeon pose+ butterfly (5 minutes)

    -wall splits (5 minutes)

-butterfly with book to make it harder (5 minutes)

    -wall splits (5 minutes)

-free stretch period +attempted middle split

Recently I started a new routine about a week ago to try for side splits since I could never really get my middle ones. It is something like this now:

    -ankle holds (5 minutes)

-gentle middle split hold (10 minutes)

    -butterfly+deep lunge (5 minutes)

-gentle middle split hold (10 minutes)

    -pigeon pose+ butterfly (5 minutes)

    -Front split video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afVMVivveQw

I can now do a front split, but only with my right leg and only after all of this stretching. My goal is to be able to fall into a split without stretching and without it hurting. Also, I have done the test to see if your body cannot accommodate the split and I passed, so it is not that.

    Tips? Suggestions?

    embarrassing question

    Posted: 14 Jun 2021 08:05 AM PDT

Hi! So after a training session where i specifically focus on the pelvic area (frog stretch), i noticed some blood in urine the next day. I, of course, freaked out and went to the hospital where they ran a lot of test (blood, urine, and scan) but didn't find anything suspicious, neither the exact cause. Did that ever happen to you ? Any informations on the subject ? Is that ever possible or the cause should necessarily be something else (like foam roller or massage gun around the kidneys area) ? I don't search of course medical advice, and i did go to the doctor, but i was wondering if someone had a similar experience. Thank you!
