Pranayama: Insomnia Help |
| Posted: 15 Jun 2021 01:20 PM PDT Namaste everyone! Hope everyone is safe and doing well. I am a 20 year old guy suffering from insomnia for the past 3 years. It got so worse earlier this year, that I couldn't function properly for a month. Fortunately, I consulted an ayurvedic doctor. He gave me some medicine (ayurvedic) and instructed me to do a few yoga poses and pranayamas (Anulom-Vilom and Udhgeeth) every morning and it helped a lot. But still, it takes me hours to fall asleep. I've noticed during the night that my right nostril is dominant and the left one is almost blocked, which may be contributing to the problem. I also seem to have sinusitis. Which pranayamas can help me overcome this problem more effectively? How long? At what time? How many times a day can I practice? Please guide me. Thank you.
