Random thoughts: Getting back into it after a while and here's my experience this time.

I am Indian. Have done some non-structured yoga on my own ever since I was 12-13; I am 40 now. Started Ashtanga several years ago (~10) and had a teacher. That did not work out for several reasons...it was 20 minutes' drive away and I hated getting up early and commuting: also, no consistent improvements for motivation back then. Also, did not think I need to self-practice most of the times...like what Ashtanga is supposed to be.
I gave up back then and have been doing Bryan Kest's power yoga series in between now and then. I do triathlons as well, so yoga part was still inconsistent.

Covid has damaged me! Been feeling incredibly stressed...quite often, about nothing! I talk to a counselor (been talking for 3 years now), but that hasn't helped. I randomly decided to do the full first full series 10 days ago ('K Pattabhi Jois in LA' video on YouTube) and it was the first time I had this deep an implication on my mental state from a physical exercise, ever! Haven't felt this relaxed in the longest time!

I am stressing my joints and muscles though; there is pain...I just got Penetrex, Blue-Emu and Biofreeze to help me get to it every morning.

Not able to get into all the poses fully, more so now than several years ago, but I have been spending ~2 hours every morning for the last 10 days to get to the end. More importantly, body has changed a lot and it felt like I must move all the muscles in my body and do this every day to get rid of the aches and pains, but most importantly, I feel relaxed!

I stared doing Pranayama as well; hopefully, I see enough to keep doing it too.

Here's to us all - to get us on the mat every morning, afternoon, or evening...be it rain or sunshine!

    Wrist injury advice

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 09:44 PM PDT

Hi! I injured my right wrist after twisting it in the wrong direction while lifting a heavy object. I applied cold compress several times and gave it some rest for about a month now. I also stopped doing yoga. Now, I want to return to my practice, but I cannot even do a proper Chaturanga because of the slight but tolerable pain on my wrist.

Do you have any advice on what I can do to rehabilitate my wrist and return to my practice? TYIA!

    live yoga sessions

    hi community!

    Hello!

    Greetings to everyone, (new here)

I'm here to tell you how was my experience doing Yoga. I admit that my passion is to train with weights; but I also think it's good to try different disciplines, so I decided to look for different classes online and I found a site where there are live sessions every day (which is great) here it is: onlive.co/yoga

It was an excellent experience and I am determined to practice Yoga once a week :) to release body tensions and stretch the muscles.

    any comments are welcome!!! :)))
