    Stretching vs strengthening a lengthened muscle

    I am working on my hip flexor flexibility (especially for front splits and manna), and I am aware that strength is a big part of flexibility. From my understanding the nervous system locks up muscles from stretching any farther due to a lack of strength in that ROM. If this is true, could something like this be effective?

    Does anybody know a good stretching regimen that would allow me to enter into full lotus? I don't know what stretches are needed or the time and frequency to do them. Anything is appreciated, thanks!
