If you can front split are you able to straddle too?

    Posted: 11 Jul 2021 02:05 AM PDT

I am in the process of learning front splits on each leg. What I do is spend 1 minute on each leg and repeat up to 5x per session with rests in between. 3 sessions per day. I'm pretty sure by October I should be able to fully split on both legs however...does this also mean by then I'll be able to fully straddle too? If not, would it take the same amount of time I took to front split to straddle too?

One more thing, is the pace of 1 minute per leg, 5X a session and 3 sessions per day is effective?

I'd love any tips and advice to better advance my splits, any exercises that helps with stretching the muscles to do front AND straddles will be most helpful as well, thank-you!!!

    Flat lower back in Pike

    Posted: 10 Jul 2021 11:34 AM PDT

Hi looking for some advice, I started stretching and doing yoga a few years ago. My aim was to touch my toes . I could only reach my knees. I can now after a bit of warm up put my hands flat on the floor which is great progress ... its taken me a few years. However,I just don't think I'm doing it right. My lower babk is still a bit tight and I don't think I'm getting the pelvic tilt and cheating by curving my back. I see all these vids and pics of people with perfect flat backs as they go into pike ... I'm nothing like that. Any advice? I'm male and mid 40s.

Is there a max time/day for mobility exercises for the same muscle/joint? (Ankles, Hips, etc.)

I have poor ankle and hip mobility and the progress is really slow and annoying which is affecting my lower back when squatting. So, is it OK to do those mobility exercises 2-3 times a day? Or this will over exhaust the muscle?
