Potential long post. New here btw Posted: 29 Jul 2021 11:53 AM PDT Hey everyone! I'm gonna give a bit of a background. I'm 5'3, 124 lbs, and have not worked out in a little over 2 months. I was doing calisthenics and weight training. Now I'm doing nothing. 😠I want to get into yoga. I just don't know where to start. I can barely even stretch anymore. I'd like to improve my core strength, breathing, and overall flexibility. Side question: can yoga bring my butt back? 🤣 or should I keep doing squats throughout the day along with yoga? Posted: 29 Jul 2021 03:40 AM PDT I have a few old yoga mats that are no longer useable for my practice but I hate to throw them out. Is there a way to repurpose them? I also have a Bmat that's getting dry and I'm realizing how crispy it is because I ordered a new mat recently. Is there a way to soften it up again? [link] [comments] |
Yoga poses to run a better marathon, help Posted: 29 Jul 2021 08:28 AM PDT Hi i'm a 23M and in the last month I ran 2 marathons (both were around 6 hours). I can do it way faster in terms of endurance (i'm not tired at all) but my hip can't take it. Everytime I cross the 25km mark my right hip hurts at the right front side. It is not a pain like a stab or pinching pain but more like a tightness pain and not being flexible enough, it feels like some sort of pressure. Now a friend told me to do yoga for hip flexibility and strength (especially since i'll do kickboxing again soon). But I know absolutely nothing about yoga. Do you guys have tips to get me started, especially for my hips? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Jul 2021 12:08 PM PDT Whenever I try to get my legs behind my head, I feel a pull in my lower back. It's really uncomfortable and I've already tried laying down and sitting up for the pose. Any tips? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Jul 2021 08:42 AM PDT Is there anyone willing to work with me 1 on 1 on building a solid routine that will direct me to be committed and reach my goals? I like in the middle of nowhere (kinda not really) & there are no personal trainers in my area. I will compensate you for your time as I want this to be a very detailed and in depth assessment of what I need to reach my goals and what I need to do. I appreciate any help! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 28 Jul 2021 11:21 PM PDT Sun salutations, is one of the most popular flows of yoga asana. There are perhaps as many variations as there are teachers. To list a few: ⏺️Traditional Hatha Yoga ⏺️Ashtanga Vinyasa A & B ⏺️Sivananda Yoga ⏺️Variations from Vinyasa Yoga Many questions come up on how to do this sequence of the traditional 12 poses. Some poses are repeated in the cycle. This can be a complete yoga practice. - ⏺️First, it is best to experience each position and become familiar and comfortable with it. ⏺️The next step is to add the #breath and the flow. ⏺️Once that is mastered, awareness of the psychic centers or #chakras can be added. ⏺️There is a #mantra for each position. This mantra can be recited while doing the sequence. Meaning is given for each Surya Mantra. All these sound vibrations make the practice more fluid and energizing. ⏺️Each #asana represents a particular mental or emotional state. Contemplation on that state can be incorporated. Comment below and let me know your favorite posture from Surya Namaskara 👇👇👇 [link] [comments] |
Can Adriene Mishler (Yoga with Adriene) do the splits? Posted: 29 Jul 2021 01:24 PM PDT I'm wondering, has anyone ever seen her do it? She only has one "standing splits" video on her channel and she doesn't actually open her legs 180 degrees in that video. [link] [comments] |
