Ashtanga yoga: Ashtanga and insomnia |
| Posted: 02 Apr 2020 01:56 AM PDT Hello, I am new on this forum and so glad I found it as we don't have this kind of ashtanga forum here in France – and of course, I am in quarantine and can't go to my usual mysore class. Anyway, this can sound like a weird question but has someone here experimented insomnia since doing ashtanga ? Sleeping has always been a problem as long as I can remember (I am 45) but since I practice daily (I am now in the intermediate) it has been getting really worst – fortunately, I don't need lots of sleep but this is hard anyway, even if I don't feel that bad when I wake up. And then here is my other question : is that ok to practice when you have only slept for 3-4 hours? It seems to be ok for the moment, but maybe not in the long run… I am a vata-pitta person, if that can help. And I practice early in the morning, 6 days a week. These days I have been adding pranayama and a bit of yin in the afternoon, but this is worst than ever. Thanks a lot for your help and have a great day! Sorry for my poor English, I tried to do my best :) [link] [comments] |
