A video of me doing a leg hold

Started my journey two weeks ago. Bottom picture is my progress. I'm pretty unflexible but I'm working hard on this! I'll show my progress in a few weeks.

Decided to put quarantine to use start working on back bends, any recommendations you have for chest/shoulder stretches (or any recs at all!) would be greatly appreciated!

    Headaches from doing backbending stretches

    Posted: 04 Apr 2020 03:16 AM PDT

I've always had trouble with backstretches because I get painful throbbing headaches the instant my head goes backwards. It doesn't matter if I do a back bend starting from the floor, or just bend backwards while on my knees, I get this uncomfortable and annoying headache. It goes away once I orient myself vertically again. Anyone know what it could be and what I could do to prevent it? I'm afraid I'll never be able to do a back end because of this.

Hadn’t been able to touch with my feet in years! Quarantine is doing wonders for my flexibility, also I have no idea what this is named

App to log workouts and track progress with pictures?

    Posted: 03 Apr 2020 02:54 PM PDT

Hi guys, I've just started taking flexibility more seriously and I'd like to start logging my stretching and track my progress. Is there an app anyone can recommend?

Everything I find is just endless videos, usually in a pretty clunky interface. I don't want/need videos of what to do - that's what YouTube is for. I just want to track what I do and add pictures to show my progress. Right now I'm literally just using a journal app, but I'm sure there's a more tailored solution!

Hi flex community! Looking for some help: When I’ve been going into my splits I’m feeling most of the ‘stretch’ in my adductor right near my knee (where I’ve circled in the picture but on the inside of my leg). I’m not sure why this is happening or how to fix it. I would love some advice.

Persistent pain in left hamstring that hasn't gone away after many years. Anyone know what it could be?

    Posted: 03 Apr 2020 02:05 PM PDT

    Quick backstory.

I've been quite active most of my life. I started stretching for martial arts when I was around 10 years old and I got to a point where I was pretty flexible (couple inches away from a full splits), then I stopped for a few years and then tried working on my flexibility again at around 13-14 years old. Again I got pretty close to doing the splits again, but some time during this period (13-14), I noticed I started getting this sharp pain in my left hamstring muscle. So, I eased up on the stretching and eventually completely stopped. So now, some 6 or 7 years later I decided to start stretching again (I'm in my early twenties now) and quickly realized that the sharp pain in my left hamstring is still very much there when I do stretches that target that area.

I'm wondering if anyone can help me find out what it is exactly and also how I can fix this. I find it odd that even after 6-7 years away from stretching, the pain is still there and just as painful as it was before. I don't have that pain in my right leg so it must be some kind of injury I sustained but I thought it was strange that it hasn't gone away and it also hasn't affected me in my daily life all these years, so it couldn't be a serious injury like a muscle tear or something like that, right? Does anyone know what it could be?

Any help is much appreciated. Thank you!

Are there any success stories from people who used to be completely inflexible?

I can't touch my toes and when I try to to the splits it's at about a 80 degree angle. I look like a stick figure drawing. All I have is the ability to touch my elbows together behind my back. I guess I just need some inspiration

Something slipped under thigh doing splits

    Posted: 03 Apr 2020 11:55 AM PDT

So I was trying to do the splits and suddenly something under my thigh moved towards and inner side of my thigh, left leg. It's around my lower thigh close to my knee. I quickly came out of my splits and it felt like it slipped back in place. There is no pain when I rest my legs but when I walk, only when there is a slight twisting movement, it hurts. It feels like something is moving slightly. Also when I apply pressure on the ground with my toes with heels up, it hurts. No pain when body weight is on heels. It also hurts when I twist my full leg. What could it be? Am I in trouble?
