Posted: 01 May 2020 03:41 AM PDT After you achieve a split or centimeters from doing so is it normal to feel stiff on the days(well rested) that you train them? I notice a stiff feeling on the first set and I am fairly high but by the third set other than normal tension almost flat and no issues. Guessing it is different for everyone but, I am curious to know how long it takes for the body to let splits become the norm. I notice some people can find depth with no issues, like there body forgot what tension is. For the front splits I can go max 3 days a week but only do one now and still seeing progress. Treating the progressions like strength training and only training when recovered, I am curious when your flat in splits or reach a point where your happy with. At what point can you passively do a split after a 30-90s of just sitting in them, from a viewpoint of a adult who never had splits ever? I would like to actively be able to use the range of motion or drop into them after a sufficient warm up. [link] [comments]

Stretch in the morning and evening? Posted: 01 May 2020 02:51 AM PDT Ive been stretching in the morning for a while now. However, I work out twice a day atm (cardio/soccer/swimming) during the day and gym in the evening. So I want to stretch again at least after the gym. However, that would mean stretching twice a day. About 20 mins in total. I was just wondering if thats safe to do or if anyone has any experience with that. Thanks :) [link] [comments]
I have only realised I have Knee Valgus/Duck Feet Posted: 01 May 2020 12:59 AM PDT Hello. I am 30, Male and very active (Half marathons, tennis 2-3 times a week, gym etc) 6 ft, fairly broad and athletic but only realised that my alignment and legs are pretty much all over the place. Being in lockdown has made me re evaluate my health and physical body. I've been stretching before bed for the last 6-8 months and improving flexibility, but have been taking yoga and alignment more seriously during lockdown. Oh man. I have SO much to work on.... My feet point out. My tibias face out. My knees face in. My quads are super tight. My Calves are super tight. I think the arches of my feet are caving in. I have lower back pain in the mornings which make me think I have a tilted pelvis etc. When I walk up the stairs or squat my knees go inwards. Basically everything I've read makes me think I have knee valgus and I want to know what I can do to fix this or whether this is something that is a chronic condition I won't be able to resolve now without surgery? One hip flexor suddenly becoming right? Posted: 30 Apr 2020 05:22 PM PDT Hi all, My right hip flexor has been bothering me for the past 3 months. I'm not sure why it started in the first place, since my lifestyle hasn't changed for the past 4 years. I sit at the desk all day and do CrossFit. The way I sit at the desk and the way I train hasn't changed. My left hip feels great. I've tried doing some foam rolling and it seemed to temporarily help. The fact that it would come back shortly afterwards, however, leads me to believe that it does not address the underlying cause. I'd see a PT if I could but I guess due to COVID-19 I will need to ask Reddit's help. Any suggestions on how to fix this? [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Apr 2020 03:17 PM PDT I've just recently hear someone on reddit told me that oversplits are bad. [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Apr 2020 01:35 PM PDT So I've been trying to do the front splits. I stretch everyday and I always feel good after stretching, I don't push to a point where it hurts. Is it normal to feel all sore the next day? I feel like this might be impeding progress because my muscles feel super tight and I have to work my way up to getting the flexibility back like I'm spending more of the time loosening up my muscles than actually getting more flexible. How long should it take for me to get the splits? [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Apr 2020 12:51 PM PDT Hello, this subreddit has just been recommended to me as I'm willing to improve my flexibility and I saw the beginner routine but after looking at the follow along video it seems it was make for people who have a very rigid body to begin with while I'm already quite flexible. Do you have a full body flexibility routine to advise for someone with already good flexibility but not pro like those posting videos here. The main goal would be to do a split but Im aiming for overall flexibility. Thanks in advance :) [link] [comments]
