- 2018 vs 2020 and im almost crying im so happy :')
- People often ask me what’s the point of stretching. Honestly, I don’t know. It just gives me the chance to find peace and comfort in my very own body. Yesterday for a few minutes I almost forgot the world is burning.
- Can you see my progress or am I being excited for nothing? (Also, I want to start doing cheststands but I find them terrifying Any tips?)
- Upward rooster pose (last year)
- This might be silly
- This is the lowest I can go without leaning forward and twisting my hips. Any tips?
- Squat with fingers interlocked behind the back. This is much tougher than it looks!
- Tingling sensation on Thigh after starting Butterfly Stretches
- Need help with how to fix this! Any advice is welcome
- Puppy pose help!
- I (F16) am a dancer want to get more flexible

Posted: 04 Jun 2020 03:48 AM PDT I love doing yoga in terms of stretching, I really do. It's just Christian views on yoga makes me uncomfortable. I don't intend to offend anyone, I am a Christian. It's just I'm not over-the-top religious. I'm an anxious person, so this makes me uncomfortable. Especially the stuff people are writing about the awakening of some evil spirits in the form of a snake. This is very stupid, but I can't make peace with it. I'm really upset about the idea of being a sinner while doing something good for my body. So I'm just looking for kind words. [link] [comments]

Tingling sensation on Thigh after starting Butterfly Stretches Posted: 03 Jun 2020 07:14 PM PDT Hi Guys, I recently started doing butterfly stretches as a starting point towards eventually being able to sit in a full lotus position. I have never really taken stretching seriously in the past so am still new to the science of stretching. I have fairly tight hips, especially the right side (after having an ACL surgery about 3 years ago). After the first couple of days, I started feeling an ongoing tingling sensation on my the top and outer side of my right thigh. I have absolutely no issue son the left. This gets exacerbated if I say crossed legged and put my left foot under the right thigh. Some initial research said it could be the sciatic nerve playing up but I would love to know any thoughts on what might be going on here. Also, should I continue stretching? Would it make sense to wait a couple of days for this to subside and then continue? Thanks [link] [comments]

Posted: 03 Jun 2020 10:46 AM PDT Hello! My goal is to be able to do a puppy pose like this. But I'm having difficulties touching my chest on the ground. I can touch though if my thighs aren't perpendicular to the ground. I can't seem to push myself further down. What should I do to reach my goals? [link] [comments]
I (F16) am a dancer want to get more flexible Posted: 03 Jun 2020 07:35 AM PDT I have been dancing all my life, since I was three. I was pretty flexible I guess as a kid (because I was younger) but I don't recall ever doing the splits. My dance studio when I was younger wasn't a very serious one. I still learned a lot about dance, but we never did competitions or really studied things in ballet, tap, jazz, etc. we had recitals and that was it, but I love it. Around four years ago I quit dance to try a new hobby, violin. I tried three years of that when I realized that I missed dance a lot and wanted to start again. My old studio closed though, so I went to a new one. Last year was my first year back, and now I'm on my second. Any bit of flexibility I have had before is completely gone. I'm not flexible AT ALL, and I really want to be. I want to be the best dancer I can be, and being flexible will help me so much. I'm not naturally flexible, and neither was my mom (who danced when she was younger. However, she worked on it and eventually got flexible!!!) I've tried a few stretching routines on YouTube, but I get really discouraged because the people in the videos are extremely flexible and I can barely do that they're doing. I constantly lose motivation to stretch, even though it's something I REALLY want. I know that this will be a long journey. I would love to get a split someday, but I know that my middle splits will probably not happen ANY time soon lol. I just want to improve. Can someone help me find a great, effective stretching routine & recommend ways to get motivated? [link] [comments] |
