I need desperate help with back flexibility !

    Posted: 01 Jun 2020 10:51 PM PDT

My goal is to be able to successfully do a wheel pose, but I am quite unflexible. I can't even get my arms to work/bend to get me up in the position. I started stretching pretty consistently for the past 2/3 weeks, I know it's still early but I still get pain in my lower back even just doing upward dog and I feel like I'm doing this all wrong and it won't ever get better/easier. Any tips or stretches I should be practicing to help out my back? Or maybe to improve my shoulder flexibility?

    Feeling faint from needle stretch

    Posted: 02 Jun 2020 04:08 AM PDT

Hi there, hope everyone's safe and well!

Just a quick question I can't really find info on anywhere really

I'm a competitive cheerleader and I've been working on a needle for a few years now and I can finally do one, however, recently when I've been stretching my back for it (bridges with elbows down and against walls) I've been getting super light headed. It gets worse when I try to pull it, I've actually passed out once while pulling it. I'm making sure I'm breathing, I definitely cannot get full breaths in but I am taking breaths as deep as I can.

I stopped stretching it recently because I was worried about it, but I've recently started slowly stretching my back more and more because tryout season is here.

I really want to be able to do it but obviously not at the cost of my health. Any tips welcome, thank you!

    Flexibility for skateboarding

    Posted: 01 Jun 2020 04:33 PM PDT

Hi, first post in here, I'm hoping I've come to the right place.

I'm 30 and recently picked up skateboarding again and found out I'm not as flexible as I used to be. I'm wondering if someone could point me to some exercises that could help?

I can spread my legs just over 2 feet without feeling uncomfortable and my hips feel very stiff.

I think these are the main two areas that I want to be able to improve if anyone could suggest anything?

    Thank you!

Calf pain during pancake: is it just tight calves or is it time to see a doctor?

    Posted: 01 Jun 2020 04:01 PM PDT

I've been bad about stretching after exercise recently and I've gotten pretty inflexible. I picked my yoga routine back up again but I'm getting shooting pains in my right calf and adductor when I try pancake stretch now. However I never have pain in any other poses and it stops as soon as I stop the pose. Did I push it too far and injure myself or are my muscles just super tight?

Tips on how to warm up without using my injured foot?

    Posted: 01 Jun 2020 08:47 AM PDT

I've been stretching for splits the last months and I'm really close. If I do hamstring etc stretches on the ground I won't have to use my foot, so I might as well keep stretching since this injury can take a week or so to heal.

My main problem is how do I warm up before doing the stretches?

This is one of my favourite shoulder stretches and strengthening exercises for shoulder extension and for the core and lower back. Here are two progressions to get you started.
