    Dealing with fatigue after practice

    Hi there,

I just wanted to ask how people deal with fatigue or tiredness after class, especially when you have a work day ahead of you? Since starting yoga nearly 18 months ago I have always felt tired from 30-45 mins after class (sleepy, strong dip in energy levels). I'm sure it is related to my fitness level, as if I now do a beginners class I am perfectly fine afterwards, but the fatigue continues as I slowly enter harder classes (like Mysore for the past month now 2x per week). Personally I love night classes as I have a really good sleep and the fatigue is not an issue by morning. However the morning classes are killing my productivity at work. One of the teachers at my yoga centre said this is normal and just to have something to eat and sleep it off. I guess this works better than sitting at the computer and getting nothing done all morning. I do have pretty good nutrition (also plant based) and I sleep well. Has anyone got any tips on how to deal with this? (I always recall Iyengar in a few of his books saying how restorative Savasana is but I could never relate to this based on my experience).

    Thanks in advance guys...

PS. It could be related to age as I am in my 40s and was in a pretty bad state 18 months ago. A lot of the people in Mysore (where I attend) are all pretty young and fit.
