| Monthly Newbie Ashtangi Discussion - July 07, 2020 Posted: 07 Jul 2020 06:09 AM PDT Welcome to the monthly Newbie thread. This thread is for all newbies who would like to ask beginner questions. No question is TOO beginner. Feel free to post just to introduce yourself also. Mod Team [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 07 Jul 2020 10:32 PM PDT In halasana, whilst I can easily touch my toes to the floor behind my head, I find this is mainly achieved through curving my spine rather than lengthening my hamstrings (which, as a beginner ashtangi, are still quite tight) Is it better to elevate my feet, thus ensuring a straighter spine, or work on lengthening the spine with my feet on the floor? | Final Week of Ashtanga Yoga and Well-being Survey Posted: 07 Jul 2020 10:38 PM PDT Hi there! I hope you're safe and healthy. A couple of weeks ago I re-posted a link to an online survey that is part of a research project studying the connections between yoga and well-being in Ashtanga Yoga practitioners. This is the final week the survey will be available and we're trying to involve as many people as we can. If you haven't seen or completed the survey yet and you're keen on getting involved, now is your chance! It doesn't matter how long or frequently you've been practising, your experience can provide us with highly valuable information. The survey is completely confidential and it'll take around 15 to 30 minutes to complete. You can do it in more than one sitting by using the same link from the same device, your responses will be saved and you can return where you left it. The link will be open until July 15th. You can find more bout the study and decide whether to participate in the links below: Yoga Survey in English https://melbourneuni.au1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bKHmWwNtR7Wob89 Yoga Survey in Spanish https://melbourneuni.au1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bmi7oA0geDWPhNr Upon completion, you'll have the option to enter a prize draw with a chance to win an online Meditation Teacher Training course offered by The School of Positive Transformation, valued at $690 AUD and one of five $50 AUD Amazon.com gift cards. Make sure you reach the final "Thank You" message to confirm your responses have been recorded. Sharing your experiences and perspective will help us to develop a broader and deeper understanding of the benefits of yoga. This knowledge has the potential of contributing to the scientific and yoga communities, as well as the wider community. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this post and considering being a part of this study! Warmest wishes, Daniela [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 07 Jul 2020 04:17 AM PDT I'm sometimes so blissed out after my practice, that doing anything else that I have to do, for the next few hours post my practice is rarely doable. This is obviously a problem lol, at least I work freelance but still… Anyone else deal with this? What are your strategies? I love this practice! [link] [comments] |
