| Tiredness in certain asanas? (the extended side angle and twisted side angle) Posted: 12 Jul 2020 07:46 PM PDT Hi all. I get a strange sense of tiredness in certain asanas - the extended side angle and twisted side angle. After the practice I feel ok (not tired at all) it's just during these two asanas. I look at my hand holding the pose, focus on my breath and there is always a sense of fatigue in my body and a thought "I am tired. Why am I doing this." What is going on? [link] [comments] |
| Science behind yoga asanas and pranayama Posted: 12 Jul 2020 02:48 AM PDT I'm interested in understanding more about the (modern) scientific explanation of how yoga asanas and pranayama work to improve health. I've been reading Yog: In Synergy with Medical Science by Acharya Balkrishna (mainly focuses on the science of pranayama). I also came across Science of Yoga by Ann Swanston (haven't read it yet). Any thoughts on these books? Are there others that people would recommend? [link] [comments] |
