Started to practice lifting my leg recently :)

Is anyone able to do this? How long did it take for you to stretch and get to it?

    Trouble sitting straight

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 10:12 PM PDT

Hey all, I have been trying to do meditation on/off for about 4-5 years but can't sit with my legs crossed and my back straight, much less work to something stereotypical like a half or full lotus. It's a bad enough rounding of my lower back that I need to lean back at about an 110 degree angle to straighten my lower back if I'm sitting. What kind of things can I focus on to try and reach the goal of criss cross (link for angle demonstration: https://imgur.com/a/HBEjz03 ,) and then eventually work on the lotus poses?

    Beginning my flexi journey

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 06:26 AM PDT

Hi all! I have been lurking this community for almost 2 months, and I have been so inspired! Today, I begin my flexibility journey. I'm 29 and have neglected stretching after workouts for almost..ever. I am excited to be shortening my workouts and adding in flexibility and yoga, in hopes to have a more balanced, healthy life. Excited to learn from you all :)

Conspiracy theory against my yoga mat

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 12:42 PM PDT

Is it just me? I feel like when I stretch for my splits its 10 times harder on a mat than when I just do it on the carpet or floor. Especially when I try to get into it, I feel like I need to strain a lot more on mat which of course is never a good thing to do, rather than easily sliding into it. Anyone else deal with that? I wonder why that is?

    Flexible guy celebrities

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 03:57 PM PDT

This is a weird question but does anyone know any male celebrities that are flexible and/or can do the splits! I have been trying to find flexible people and I want to see if there are any flexible guy celebrities. Thank you! Also- any flexible male athletes?

    Can’t twist without pain

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 09:32 AM PDT

My hips are extremely stiff. While I'm trying to open things up with regular one-legged pigeon and lunges I find that I still cannot do any kind of twist - especially supine twists - without real pain and impingement. It's more pronounced on my right side, where there is a history of some traumatic injury long ago.

Are there exercises I can use to prepare my body for the exercise that's supposed to help it?
