    Sitting in splits

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 04:31 PM PDT

Does sitting in the splits for a prolonged period increase your flexibility? Because I want to add it into my stretch routine if it's going to help.

My inflexibility really angers me so I'm trying to find the best things to do without going too overboard and injuring myself

    How to avoid injuries?

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 04:12 PM PDT

New to stretching regularly ( following a program I found online ) and am interested in how to go about avoiding injuries. Like how do I know if I shouldn't hold a certain position or go as far as I think I should?

Can someone provide/point me to a top-down image of someone doing a solid middle split?

Can someone provide/point me to a top-down image of someone doing a solid middle split?

I did a google image search but couldn't find what I'm looking for in the first few pages... I'm working on my middle split (the kind where feet/knees point up, not forward) and I'm not sure if I'm "cheating" by having my butt pushed back slightly or if that's anatomically the only way a middle split can be done. I really want to see a top-down view of someone with a very solid middle split so that I can see the angle of the legs/hips/butt. Thanks!

Edit: Alternatively, can someone critique this top-down image of my middle split? I'm a few inches off the ground and definitely leaning a bit forward onto my hands. Please ignore my boyfriend's feet.

    Restriction in calf when squatting?

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 10:01 AM PDT

So I can easily hit depth on a squat with weightlifting shoes, but when I take them off I struggle to hit depth without flaring my toes out. This leads me to think that it's an ankle issue but when I isolate stretching my ankle I feel a restriction in like the outside of my calf (closer to my tibia). I also feel a pinching sensation around my ankle so I always do joint banded mobilization. My hips do not have any restrictions as far as I'm aware. Any suggestions on how to get eliminate the restriction on the outside of my calf and the pinching in my ankle?

overstretched hamstring pain just went away?

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 10:08 AM PDT

so a week ago I think I overstretched a hamstring (I couldn't do the splits/ stretch on that side fully, it hurt a bit), and I've been barely (if at all) stretching it since- but today I was doing my lighter stretches and easing into that side, and the pain suddenly went away. I can now comfortably stretch to the same extent as I did before, but should I be worried about this? just a few minutes ago it was still painful, but now I seem fine. thanks for any input!

    Tightness in left adductor

    Posted: 04 Sep 2020 04:42 AM PDT

In the last month I started feeling tightness in my left inner leg. I think it might be due to running without stretching after but I don't really know.

I don't feel it when stretching except for pancake, which I can barely even sit up in because my left leg is so tight. I've been trying to stretch it but no progress so far.

Does anyone know what may have caused it, know any good treatment, or had a similar experience?
