Yoga: Yoga high? |
- Yoga high?
- [COMP] it was comfortable enough for a solo flow outdoors yesterday (pun mildly intended)

- Nausea
- Apple Watch + yoga practice
- What is your favorite way to start a class?
- IKEA granite countertops for carpeted practice?
- Sweat in my eyes from below...
- What classifies as flow? If I do 2 well executed wheels, a 10 min down dog, maybe a pup pose, some thread the needle, does it count as flow? Also, wheel pose is hard. I find it harder than crow pose.
- Is there a big different between hatha and vinyasa yoga?
- A short break
- Which one ?
- How do you get content with the fact that you may never be able to do certain poses?
- What are some great yoga leggings & running leggings that are breathable material that don’t have a seam going up the crotch? It’s like the worst thing when designing leggings and I can’t find any good ones. (In Australia btw)
- Smelling a cologne or perfume scent after meditation?
- Pain in child's pose
Posted: 27 Jul 2021 10:54 AM PDT I just finished a yoga session and afterwards I felt really high. I savored the feeling by meditating. I felt woozy and my skin was tingly but also felt peaceful and happy. I would compare it to having 6 drinks. I wasn't light headed or doing an upside down pose, I was mostly doing leg poses the whole time eg splits, lunges. I've done the same workout video plenty of times. I've never had this sensation in other workouts. Has anyone ever experienced this before? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 27 Jul 2021 01:29 PM PDT I have seen posts on this sub about people getting nauseated after yoga, but my situation is slightly different. I only get nauseated during the floor portion of class, specifically flat on the back such as abdominal twists, etc. I have to sit up for a few minutes while it subsides. It happens every time, and the instructors do not know what could cause it. I am fine during all other parts of class, including afterwards. Any thoughts? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Jul 2021 02:48 PM PDT I know this may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I wear an Apple Watch during my practice. I noticed that it does not track my yoga practice and constantly pauses mid practice, especially when holding longer poses. Have any other Apple Watch wearers run into the same problem? Any solutions? Thank you! [link] [comments] |
What is your favorite way to start a class? Posted: 27 Jul 2021 12:32 PM PDT Do you like to read a passage? Start with a light relatable story? Get right to connecting with breath? Silence? What's your go to and why? [link] [comments] |
IKEA granite countertops for carpeted practice? Posted: 27 Jul 2021 03:12 PM PDT Does anyone remember the post from a while back where the fellow put an ikea countertop under his mat? It fit perfectly, and I'm trying to find the post but I didn't save it! Not having much luck with searching for it. I appreciate your help very much :) [link] [comments] |
Sweat in my eyes from below... Posted: 27 Jul 2021 10:32 AM PDT Hey gang, I've been practicing almost daily for just over a year. Lots of vinyasa and power classes, some warmed to about 85 degrees. My problem is I sweat a lot, even in non-heated classes. I wear a headband that does a great job of stopping the sweat from my forehead. However, many postures bring my eyes lower than my chin and I frequently get sweat in my eyes coming from my face (below my eyes). I also wear a sweat band on my wrist and will wipe when I can but it isn't a great solution. Any recomendations on how I can keep sweat from pouring into my eyes from my cheeks when in a posture that elevates my chin above my eyes? Thanks [link] [comments] |

Is there a big different between hatha and vinyasa yoga? Posted: 27 Jul 2021 11:01 AM PDT I have taken both hatha and vinyasa classes. The only difference I find it that the vinyasa class seems to move a bit faster and doesn't pause at all to focus on a particular pose, where as the hatha class flowed, but with more pauses and focus on different poses. Posted: 27 Jul 2021 10:21 AM PDT I had a break because of my finals and projects etc. When I came back, oh my lord, I feel like I started all over again. Is this really the case? Its a little bit depressing to be honest. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Jul 2021 07:45 AM PDT Hello to all. I do body weight training three times a week, and running three times a week as well. But I forgot my running shoes at a friend's house, and by the time he mailed them to me, I thought, why not try yoga? I read the FAQ, and I'm hesitating between Power Yoga and Vinyasa. Which one is better for my profile? I'm 5'7" for 160 pounds (mostly fat that I'm trying to lose...). Do you have specific classes that you recommend ? Thank you so much. [link] [comments] |
How do you get content with the fact that you may never be able to do certain poses? Posted: 27 Jul 2021 02:24 AM PDT Hey all, I love yoga but I am feeling kind of disappointed knowing that I may never be able to do headstand or handstand and I'm wondering how I can get over this? I get in dolphin and try but I attempted this Rocket Yoga routine and I was like 🤨😑... I just don't think that they'll ever be in my practices but I want to be able to do them. I know yoga isn't about competing and I'm not competing with anyone but it's more of an internal thing, like accomplishing it for myself. Any tips or suggestions? All will be appreciated! Posted: 26 Jul 2021 10:26 PM PDT I can no longer do child's pose as a result of severe pain in the arch of my right foot whenever I point, curl, or place pressure on that foot. Any ideas on how to get around this? [link] [comments] |
