Ashtanga yoga: How much practice is too much ? |
| How much practice is too much ? Posted: 09 Oct 2020 12:06 PM PDT I am doing two-three hours or more of power yoga/ashtanga/rocket (any type of higher paced asana) I am starting to question how much is TOO much. Is there even anything (when it comes to asanas) that is too much? What do you think? And what is your opinion? [link] [comments] |
| Back surgery and Ashtanga practice Posted: 09 Oct 2020 02:50 AM PDT Hi Everyone. I'd been practising Ashtanga for 4 years and absolutely loving it. Then had emergency back surgery on a ruptured disk in my spine, (L4/5) getting back to yoga post op has been a painful struggle. I've been considering moving away from Ashtanga and trying a softer style of yoga, but I have a deep love of it, so ideally I want to stay. My surgeon has advised me to not bend forward, so would that mean yoga is out of the question. 🤔 I'm currently working on gentle strengthening at the gym which is helping. Has anyone been through similar? Has your daily practice still been possible? Or caused more problems. Just hoping to get some advice/reassurance. Thank you ☺️ [link] [comments] |
