| Exercises to do while overstretched? Posted: 13 Oct 2020 03:01 AM PDT So yeah yesterday's stretching turned a bit too intense and I overstretched my left hamstring (tried to do splits, sudden sharp pain) and now it's just a pain if I stretch (I did just to test, I won't try to stretch through the pain). I just got a little cocky because I felt I got pretty low but then nope Are there any exercises I could do to keep myself maybe semi-stretching but while letting that hamstring rest? My right one is fine, could I do some more stretching on that or should I wait and keep being symmetrical? Or if I can do most exercises without hurting myself, which exercises should I NOT do? Btw, I have overstretched before and I should probably ask as well: what exactly could I be doing wrong? I read somewhere else on this subreddit that it's better to flex/strengthen/push back the back leg rather than slide forward with the front leg? If that's so, I have a strong feeling that that's an issue I haven't been aware of and am guilty of doing. Or are there other things? Is overstretching inevitable sometimes? [link] [comments] | ||

| how to get better at cow pose ? working on hip flexibility or back flexibility ? Posted: 12 Oct 2020 11:35 AM PDT Hi everyone, so as the title mentions, I can't figure out what does it actually take to go deeper in the cow pose (here is a little illustration to explain my problem, sorry it looks silly) . Does it have to do with hip flexibility or back flexibility ? maybe both ? How can I get there ? [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 12 Oct 2020 08:07 PM PDT I really want to be able to sit in seiza, but my knees just don't bend like that, my butt is always like 4 inches off of the ground. And the frustrating thing is, it seems like EVERYONE that isn't me can bend their knees all the way in without any effort, for example, I always see people sitting in chairs like this and its frustrating that it just doesn't work for me. Any idea of how to fix this, if it's possible. We do these kinds of sits in martial arts, and I also have just always wanted to be able to bend my knee fully, it seems like I'm missing out on so many different things once I realized that i can't bend my knees fully.
