Posted: 20 Oct 2020 07:40 PM PDT Ok so I got into a heated discussion, and I ended up storming out. I got super mad, but right after I was able to calm down quickly, and now I'm making this post. I was about to punch a wall or throw my phone across the room but immediatenly stopped myself and now I mostly stopped the rage instantly. I THINK this is due to the 10 min meditation iv been doing on and off for the past few weeks. It has been very little meditation, but I still think it helped. It could just be the "awareness that I'm a meditator" that helped, not the actual benefits of meditation that helped, if that makes any sense. So its like meditation is on my mind more so I was able to control my emotions because it reminds me to control them, not that my ability to control has improved? [link] [comments]
| You don’t need to be sitting down closing your eyes to meditate. Posted: 20 Oct 2020 08:49 PM PDT To me meditation means to become conscious of the ego and your true being by neutrally observing the mind and becoming present in which you becomes aware you are not the egoic mind and you are the consciousness aware of the mind(I got this from eckart tolle and I resonated with it. So my point is you don't have to be sitting down and closing your eyes to do this. You can do anything and all the time, and the more you do it, the better you get at it. For example if somebody does something that you do not like and you become angry you can become aware of that reaction of the egoic mind and that is becoming conscious of your true being which to me is the definition of mediation. | Posted: 20 Oct 2020 03:52 PM PDT I thought of a great idea earlier and I just tried it out. I watched this video a while back saying "If you force a smile, you will feel happier" so I decided to implement that after meditation. When the timer went off to signal the end of my meditation, I just forced a smile and kept it for about 30 seconds to a minute. It felt so good afterwards. The mix between a meditative state and happiness is amazing. I recommend everyone who sees this to try it out and comment your experiences. Have a blessed and wonderful day! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 20 Oct 2020 11:04 PM PDT I didn't start meditating until fairly recently and it's been the best thing I've done. If someone hadn't suggested meditation, I don't think I would have tried it on my own. It never even crossed my mind. It wasn't a thing on my radar. There's so much peace that comes from sitting quietly meditating though. I truly wish I would have been told earlier in life about the benefits it has on the mind and body. [link] [comments]

Posted: 20 Oct 2020 03:05 PM PDT i find it best to focus on the positive things in life because if you dwell on things that aren't going well you might accidentally manifest more unpositive experiences. try focusing on the good things in life and see if anything gets better [link] [comments]
Does anyone have tears coming out during meditation? Posted: 20 Oct 2020 01:39 PM PDT I've been meditating for about 10 - 15 mins a day for the past few months. While meditating, I have tears coming down for no reason. The tears aren't happy or sad or have any emotion attached to them. I don't have a trigger for this either. I was hoping someone could explain or have an idea of why this keeps happening. Thank you in advance! [link] [comments]
Posted: 20 Oct 2020 10:08 PM PDT I was just curious where I can look for information on meditation. YouTube channels, books etc... I just started a few days ago with just doing a couple of short 5 min meditations. It's been nice so far but I want to make sure I'm "doing it right" [link] [comments]
Strange experience during meditation - what is this? Posted: 20 Oct 2020 11:00 AM PDT Yesterday at work I tried out a new meditation, I only did for 2 minutes. But something happened, and I dont know what. During meditation I felt like I was going pretty deep (mind you,it was a 2 min meditation) and when I opened my eyes I had a very strong feeling of not being me anymore. I questioned myself heavily who I am. I was doing routine work and I was also also being aware of who is doing this work. I talk to my boss and I dont know who is talking to my boss. From then on I feel much energy in me. It relaxes me. I am much more relaxed than usually and instead of having a long face, I am smiling and laughing often. My thoughts are reduced also. But the most interesting part - I feel much energy in me. That energy is foreign/unfamiliar. It feels like I am surrounded by a layer of energy that lifts me up in some way. It is still here. I feel powerful and instead of being tired, I feel so still and strong. The energy wants to expand. It feels like, it wants to expand more and more So, I hope you guys could somehow understand what I describe. But what happened? What could this be? I like what happened, its wonderful, but I would also like to know what happened here. Thanks for your ideas! [link] [comments]
Posted: 20 Oct 2020 08:36 PM PDT I have been meditating for about 7 months now and I haven't developed the flexibility for full-lotus yet. I sit in half-lotus for 45 minutes every day. Recently I've been trying to switch which leg is on top in half-lotus every other day. I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on different postures and/or how important it is to switch which leg is on top? [link] [comments]

Posted: 21 Oct 2020 01:54 AM PDT Hello, I'd like to form the daily habit of practicing meditation, and I am not new to that, but I've never stick to it daily. I've thought about buying a Headspace (or something else) subscription so to stick with their daily courses and so forth, so to "help myself" in doing it daily, until it becomes a habit. Kind of a trick to my laziness. I know the answer "just do it" or "set an alarm" or whatever, but so far they did not work very well. How did you create your daily habit? What tools do you recommend? Is an app a good way? I do not need guided meditations, but they can honestly be helpful at times. Open to use them, but also to go with non-guided techniques. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Can someone please recommend a good meditation app? Posted: 20 Oct 2020 07:48 PM PDT Preferably free though. I'm okay with paying but I can't afford a subscription (maybe a one time payment around $20 max). [link] [comments]
Posted: 20 Oct 2020 09:29 PM PDT I've had people come into my life who are trapped by their thoughts. I'm trying to think of ways to help describe the state of bliss knowing we are not the ego. Any help? [link] [comments]

Does meditation improve eye health? Posted: 21 Oct 2020 12:42 AM PDT Now i don't have any eye issues already but i've been spending lot of time on Computer/Phone/Studying that my eyes do feel tired and stress is also high nowadays for me. Its been a while since i planned to start meditating and i wonder if the practice would also help me improve eyesight or eye health. As i said i don't have eye issues already. Just looking at keeping it healthy from now onwards. If i stay consistent with my practice , would i notice improvements? I'm not starting meditation for any particular gain so i just wanna know if i'd end up getting better eye health as a part of the process. Thank you. Any advise appreciated. [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Oct 2020 12:29 AM PDT Why do we human beings yearn to be rich? Why do we collect so much money, build so many homes, invest in so many assets? In our passion and our greed, we want more and more. Unfortunately, we don't realize that nothing belongs to us. In the end, all our efforts will be wasted. We fight, we even cheat to earn, only to finally leave everything behind. When will we realize that the ultimate goal of our life is to realize the truth, to realize the Divine within, not just to run a race and to be an ace? Let us not make money, wealth and possessions our goal. Let us reverse it and realize that we are the Divine Soul! [link] [comments]
Today while meditation, I felt as if i fell asleep with my eyes wide open. Posted: 20 Oct 2020 04:18 PM PDT I didn't meditate for too long today, only 10 minutes. But about 7-8 mines, I felt as if I had fallen asleep. But my eyes were open. I had some eye twitching, and I felt something similar to being sleepy. But it was different. I'm not sure what this was, but it was insightful. Cheers everyone ❤️ [link] [comments]
Balance App (free at the moment) Posted: 20 Oct 2020 01:01 PM PDT Someone mentioned to me the Balance app was free right now, so I thought I'd share here. I downloaded a couple weeks ago and use quite often. I think it's about a $70 annual charge usually. [link] [comments]
Posted: 20 Oct 2020 08:38 AM PDT I'm not sure what subreddit to post this but I've heard that if you visualize what you want in life (realistically & reasonably ofc) and work towards them, they come to pass. Someone correct me of I'm wrong. This has never worked for me. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong. So I'd love to hear other people's experiences about this sort of thing. [link] [comments]
| Posted: 20 Oct 2020 09:18 PM PDT Well i've been meditating for a few days. | Creative thoughts while meditating Posted: 20 Oct 2020 04:09 PM PDT I often find that I have more creative, often counterintuitive ideas while practicing. I really want to write them down for songwriting brainstorming later on, but don't want to interrupt the session. Anybody else have this experience and if so what do you do? [link] [comments] |
