| Need Upper Back stretching Ideas Posted: 19 Nov 2020 02:12 AM PST Hey guys. Does anyone have any stretches that target the upper back? I know what to do for my lower back and I'm good at it, but I need to distribute that flexibility throughout my spine. So any tips and ideas would be really helpful. Thank you. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 19 Nov 2020 01:21 AM PST So i've got major issues extending my left shoulder, its more than likely attributed to my devotion to the bench press in my younger years without paying any attention to my mobility. If i grasp a broom handle behind my back with palms facing upwards (shoulders internally rotated) and try to lift upward my left shoulder gets ''stuck'' and tips down/forwards towards my chest where as my right shoulder seems to naturally retract/elevate as i go further into extension. It looks horrible, it's gone unnoticed for a long time until one day i was doing dips with a mirror in front of me and noticed it. I've stayed away from any horizontal pushing exercises for a long time now, i've also been doing a lot of shoulder dislocates, reverse planks/tabletops etc for months now but it isn't getting any better. I read recently it could be the pec minor that is causing the issue due to it attaching to the ribs and scapular. Any thoughts/ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks. [link] [comments] | ||

| Stretching Hamstrings: individually or together? Posted: 18 Nov 2020 04:01 PM PST Hi all, I'm a 25 y.o. male with L5-S1 disc herniation (among other similar issues). It's been getting progressively worse over the past 5 years. One thing I've been trying to ease my symptoms is improving my flexibility. I'm able to stretch my hamstrings individually (one leg out at a slight angle, other in). I'm able to get a good stretch like this, and with almost no pain (from the hernia). However, when I try to stretch both hamstrings at the same time (both legs out, together, leaning toward my feet) I can't get anywhere near close to an actual stretch without severe pain (low back & sciatica). My question is: what's happening differently when you stretch hamstrings individually as opposed to together? It feels like when I stretch them together, something is pulling on my lumbar area causing pain? What can I do about this? Thanks all! [link] [comments] | ||
| hips cracking in middle splits?? Posted: 18 Nov 2020 10:33 AM PST not sure if this is the best place to post but my hips are "cracking" in certain positions and it hurts. for example, ive been trying to get my middle splits and sometimes when i stretch my splits my hips just crack and it hurts really bad to the point i cant even stretch it for 20-30 mins. its not a stinging pain but more a deep, deep soreness. this also happens when i shave my legs for some reason. i'll be shaving my legs and when i stand back up from that hunched over position i can feel my hip lock and i cant move any more unless i force it to unlock (by cracking it, which really hurts) anyways, what is happening and how can i get it to stop!?
