Have a "stupid" question and are afraid to ask it? (Or don't want to make a whole thread for it?) Well, feel free to ask away in this thread! There's no such thing as a stupid question. This is also a great opportunity for the rest of the community to help each other out.

    Guidelines:

    • As always, read the FAQ to make sure your question isn't answered already.
    • If you're looking for the Motivational Month threads from the past, they are all here in our Wiki.
    • You can also use the search bar to see if an answer to your question exists already.
    • We are not medical professionals. If something hurts and it doesn't go away within a week's rest, see one!

    Enjoy!

Split progress over 4 months. I started seriously in july (at my summer work, i was pretty bored and didn't know a thing about good form) but now my goal is to start aerial silk next year, hope to get my splits by then!

I would love advice! *please be nice/constructive criticism*. This was my first time ever attempting a chin/chest stand. Thoracic spine mobility is my tightest area and definitely my weakest point.

    Tight Knee (possibly from split)

    Posted: 08 Nov 2020 08:14 PM PST

I'm not sure if this is going to get taken down, but I thought I'd try asking here.

I basically have my left split(not my right or middle tho) and I spent maybe 2.5-3 hours stretching it on and off yesterday and now I'm feeling tightness in my right knee. It doesn't hurt, just feels tight when I bend it and stretch my right split. I'm not sure if this is from doing my split or something else(I dance 10 hours a week but I've never experienced this before). If anyone knows what's going on and how I can prevent it, that would help!

    Knee pain

    Posted: 08 Nov 2020 12:09 PM PST

When I sit Indian style/cross legged on the floor I get pain in my right knee. I notice gerneral lack of flexibility in my right leg. The more I actively start to run the more I notice tightness in this knee.

I'm not sure how to loosen up my leg to even this out. I don't feel much pain or notice it otherwise. I think it may be stemming from my hip, but I'm not sure.
