    Ouch help

    Posted: 24 Nov 2020 02:11 AM PST

I figured id start the journey to doing the splits for soccer mainly and what i believe to be the frog stretch im having real trouble with. Ive tried it laying face down, up, and against a wall leaning forward and back, back straight or leaning forward/backward and it just seems like i cant really achieve a stretching feeling and its more like something is pinching and its really really uncomfortable on both sides of my hips on the outside.

Im a 21 yo guy i think like 5'9 maybe taller about 160 pounds and my legs go maybe 100 degrees to the side at the most.

My thing is im not too familiar with all the different bones and muscle groups but i was reading about hip bones having a genetic trait that doesnt allow them to go past a basic point without injuring something?? Is this true or have i been stretching wrong or is there something i can do to get around this?

Help! I want to be flexible again

    Posted: 23 Nov 2020 06:40 PM PST

Former competitive dancer (age 2-18 roughly 40 hrs a week in studio + 2 years on american national high kick team at high school level). I used to be a literal rubber band, but haven't stepped foot in a studio since maybe 2016. Now can barely keep my leg at 60 degrees without cramping. I really want to regain my flexibility, but I also have arthritis in my knees and feet. Please send any tips you have! I want to be able to put my leg behind my head again

    Progress Pictures to Take

    Posted: 23 Nov 2020 04:25 PM PST

I am extremely tight in every area of my body. I have been getting more and more into stretching over the past year, and figured it would be a good time to take some progress pics, as I am not far from where I started.

What poses would you recommend to take pictures in to really measure the tightness in that area?

What poses do you wish you had pictures of yourself doing?
