| Posted: 01 Nov 2020 01:13 AM PDT You guys in your late 20s and after know what I mean. If you're not particularly active physically, your body literally has dozens of spots where there's muscle tension and tightness that you're not even super aware of consciously till you really pay attention. Is this mainly because of a lack of flexibility? Can EXCELLENT flexibility eliminate the chances that you'll have this? [link] [comments] | ||
| What can I achieve in 1 month? Need to sort myself out Posted: 01 Nov 2020 01:10 AM PDT So we are going into lockdown again in the UK for a month and I want to take this opportunity to improve my flexibility and mobility. Current issues. Struggle to do a full squat to 90 degrees even with squat shoes Can not 3rd world squat as my heels can not physically touch the floor My golf swing feels stiff and rigid I struggle to get the arch in my back for bench press which you see powerlifters doing Need to correct anterior pelvic tilt Would be cool to be able to do the splits but I am currently flexible as a brick so this is a big ask What do I need to do please? Any help appreciated! [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 01 Nov 2020 01:17 AM PST For background, I'm 36 and very tall. I've been using a stretching strap daily for about a month but not making any progress. Any suggestions? [link] [comments] | ||
| Hamstring stretching - Tips and problems ? Posted: 01 Nov 2020 01:03 AM PDT It would seem that no matter which stretch i try to do, mostly what i get is pain right behind the knee. Calves i can isolate and work on, hamstring pose a bigger problem ( or a puzzle ). If i lie on my back and work on one leg at a time, instant pain behind the knee. Use a yoga block to elevate one leg and try to stretch it ? The same Mostly what i found that works is trying to forward fold, bent legs and a bit wider than hips apart ( i have to get rid of my belly to be able to do it with legs close together ) and then i put my hands on the floor, controlling with my hips ( trying to rotate butt to the ceiling ) and how much i straighten my legs how much i stretch. Even then, its close to the knee, and a bit upper part. But i have never felt any stretch in the middle of a hamstring or all the way up. Its always close to the knee and i fear i can not localise it, so in a way i have no idea what im doing. So what gives ? What should i try to do ? [link] [comments] | ||
| Vibrating feeling between thighs after stretching? Posted: 31 Oct 2020 09:49 PM PDT After I finished stretching for my front and middle splits i felt this sore feeling which is normal because i tend to push myself cuz hey, no gain without pain. But basically when I tensed up my thighs it felt like there was a vibrator within them. This only happened once and when i searched it up on google it said it was the "body preventing its tissues from tearing" or something but that didnt feel right, its not the first time i had stretched like that so i was just confused. edit: just happened again [link] [comments] | ||

| Question for all the back bend enthusiasts! Posted: 30 Oct 2020 10:21 PM PDT Doesn't it hurt??? When you're training for this, do you work on any sorts of muscles to prevent pain when bending like this? Maybe this is me-specific, since I've started training flexibility to work on my hip flexors and fix my awful anterior pelvic tilt, and I just cannot comprehend why anyone would willingly compress their lower spine to that degree and how you could possibly do it without pain. But I believe that's what's happening and would like to know how! I just want to be able to do an upward dog without it being super uncomfortable (Also I would like someone to grab the end and middle of my spine and just pull lol) [link] [comments] |
