This is my first time posting here, I'm currently training to become a yoga teacher & working on getting into deeper backbends. Those of you who have very deep wheel poses, any tips for me?

    Straddle/middle splits

    Posted: 15 Dec 2020 02:31 AM PST

    Hello,

I have been stretching in straddle for the last couple of weeks and have found I have gained no flexibility in terms of the angle of my legs. I have found some flexibility in my pancake.

What can I do to get my legs wider? My current stretches are as follow; Frog Pancake (well my attempt at pancake) Forward folds Straddle up the wall

It seems to feel it is my adductors that are my restraint.

    Thanks!

i hurt myself going into splits, can i ever do it again?

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 11:34 PM PST

i was less than an inch away and was so excited to finally go flat and i pushed myself down but ended up hurting my back for some reason... my very lower back and the pain moves to my hamstrings :( it's been a week and i haven't even went for a jog or done a simple workout because i'm afraid it will aggravate it... will i ever get my splits or is it out of the question for me now? i'm not in pain right now but when i try to stretch my hamstrings it starts and it's very dull, i think it has to do with my sciatic nerve i just don't understand what does the split have to do with the spine? (side split)

    thank you!

Outer (lateral) knee pain when doing wall splits

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 08:16 PM PST

I've been trying to improve my middle split without hurting my knees, so I opted for the wall splits instead. Recently, I have been experiencing pain along my right outer knee when I push my stretches (mostly for improvement). I've stopped for a week now and the pain is almost gone.

Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions what I can do to improve my middle splits without hurting the outside (or even inside) of my knees?

How to get better at a backbend & how to be able to do this? I saw OP and got curious, figured here would be a better place to ask!

    Stretches for shoulder pain?

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 08:33 AM PST

I have really messed up neck and shoulders, and can't get a good adjustment until I loosen those muscles up. Any good stretches for the shoulder blade/ neck area?

Help with this stretch please :(

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 06:02 AM PST

    Hello!

I've been stretching ~30 minutes every day for around 2 months now. I started figure skating so my goal is to get a lot more flexible for all the jumps and everything else (even if that's far in the future!).

I am doing this stretch but i'm still at the simplified version she's doing on the left.

My question is, if I keep doing this stretch with my other stretches daily, will I eventually be able to stretch my leg as far as she does? Or are there any other stretches I should be doing to speed the process up?

    Thanks!!
